LOL I can see it now, the Gen Chat PvPers become GM's. LMAO

Well, they have to cut funding somehow. Easier to let the players moderate than pay staff.

I didn't see the specifics. These aren't paid individuals, are they? I thought we went through this before and it ended badly. I didn't get paid when I was a councilor, but I didn't care because I enjoyed volunteering.

Considering they are doing a transfer of ownership straight out of EA this time (first since EA bought UO) it's only logical that they will lose current GM and require replacements. This counselor program could serve as a way to ensure player issues (pages) are tended to during the transition and might even become a stepping stone to some exceptional counselors becoming GMs.

Is EA selling UO? I had not seen that news. Do you have a link to it somewhere?

It's basically contract work with EA still getting the money.

Selling isn't exactly the picture you want to put into your mind. Think about going to a Sunday garage sale, and when you are looking over a bunch of things laying out on a tattered astroturf carpet, you see what looks to be UO.com sitting next to a dusty DAoC.com. They are labeled "FREE!". lol, I crack myself up sometimes...

Pretty bad when the selling websites have a 1-5 minute response time and gm's have a 24 hour response time.
