So the vollems that bond out of the crystals... what do they eat so they wont eventually go wild on you?  anyone experience any of this at all?

TM, it was one of the "gifts" they gave us for spending $29.95 to upgrade our accts to SA.

I was under the impression that crafted ones never bonded, so yes these would be nice.  It allows any template to have two monsters that are magical when trained up.  it is nice!

I opened mine on my tamer last night, and they are basically a bonded non rideable Nightmare.  I trained mine up and am going to use it with my dismount tamer, but I think I'll just stay with the nightmare, it gives me another option for mounting if one of the horses happens to die while pvping. :)  For those wanting a safe instantly bonded animal tho that is very tough, they are decent.

Lot of people are using it for Lumberjacks or Miners... strong enough to defend against the lesser monsters in the wild.

Yea, but too easy to lose your pet that way if you happen to be doing it at server down for some reason.  Better start coding auto logoff scripts for certain times. :)

I was also thinking of using a Vollem with one of my Miners that mines in Felucca for the occassional monster spawn, but did not want to lose it possibly at Server Up.  I have lost a couple of bonded Blue Beetles this way, but only because they were holding ore at Server Down and EA made it so they don't pop back to you when re-logging back in...

Use Pet Summoning Balls.

As long as you use the pet summoning ball the next day they come back.. 2 servers downs and thier lost for good.  At least thats my experience in the whole thing.. and ive lost many many many firebeetles...
