Seeing this sub getting a little hot, I figured I would take that opportunity and praise the genre of sandbox mmos and shove EVE Online into all of your pixels :>

Any scripting opportunities?

Nope..not vacationing there.. I am about to fully retire again(I will make it this time!) and one of my primary goals: Never , ever.. see below 60 degrees F... ever again. the -100 stuff, I'll read about in the news only.. and smile :)
It's cold down there, but that's wind chill they're quoting.  Actual temp's around -55F.  In any event, don't pee outside!

That is, in fact, my router.  What does this firmware do?

it's a linux distro with appropriate drivers and a number of networking tools (routing firewall vpn etc) included.  also, for some models, can tweak (boost) things like power output.  if radio hardware is actually degraded it isn't going to revive it or anything, however if manufacturer doesn't produce current firmware updates it might be worth a try, though only if you have (ample) time/patience to tinker.

Well, EA has effortlessly washed their hands of the final result, whatever it will be.  To the fourteen that were cast adrift, I feel they face an uphill battle, and wish the best of luck.

Get a linksys WRT54G and load it up with DDWRT.
http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/index

If by W600N NObama means a WRT600N, looks like he could flash ddwrt onto it:

So you've gotta ask yourself a question NObama "do I feel lucky?"  Well, do ya?

What repeater did you use, Ximan?  I have the same issue at my family's house and then one I chose sucks pretty hard.

Originally a d-link n300 extender from office depot (or something that looks similar), placed at the top of an open stairwell.  At some point they replaced that one with a netgear wn3500rp trying to fix ipad issues.  Ipad aside, biggest problem is overbuilt structure between router location and where my dad wants to browse (exact opposite end of house, on different floor).  Running cable for another, nearer access point would be the best solution, but pricey.  There is some direct wiring already in place (for an intercom system) that I've thought about rigging with a couple of homeplug av adapters as a network bridge, haven't gotten around to finding out if it's actually feasible.

Just to be sure you have your channel picked correctly, try out http://www.inssider.com

If you have an android phone the free app farproc Wifi Analyzer is pretty handy too.

Like TM points out, it's all about the environment.  Might also look into wifi repeaters if it is a distance issue.  Had to set those up at my parents. They still have issues with apple devices, everything else works fine.

I picked up an asus rt-n66u back when I needed to replace the wireless capability of the pos router required for verizon fios, and haven't had any issues.  It only supports up to n; the rt-ac66u supports 802.11ac but haven't personally owned or used one.  My only complaint is with the initial set up; has a very obstructionist wizard that is best bypassed.

Yay, UO has been demoted to the JV squad!  With UO and DAoC as titles, now they just need to go out and gather the rights to "Hunt the Wumpus" lol

rofl, looks like ea is cleaning out the attic.  how many months until free to play?

shouldn't Event macro 50 3 (which opens the pet's healthbar) force the last container to be that healthbar if nothing else has received any clicks prior to contpos?

It would be nice if it did, however the gump opened by the 'new targeting system' macros behaves differently than status gumps opened manually.  Pretty sure it has a different #contname as well.  I'm not sure though; had a spectacular raid failure a while back that hosed a bunch of VM's, and haven't felt like piecing it all back together so you might want to test that assertion before depending upon it.  As others have pointed out, most of the other scripting environment handle gumps/gump-info better, even in oeuo they're something of a pain (but at least you can enumerate them all...)

...She always liked TM's teaparty cooling tower catastrophe and the dole .gif.

I guess I better not dust off the one that started it all for me.  Think of Yoko running in a skimpy red dress.  Perrrrrfect!  But hey, I'm a dirty old man.

The towers are getting old, I need to go through my collection of gifs to find something else.  Might dust off some of my old ones that aren't breast-related.  :(
I'm all for breasts, don't run a G rated site on account of me, lolz.  It's just funny to note how segregated my viewing habits are these days vs. more carefree (kid free) days!

I run a human nox/scribe mage and am running into two other characters and they eventually kill me.  The other two characters are a dexor and a archer.

I have to agree with 12TO's and manwincs initial posts.   The hand that strikes also blocks, is the real world adage.  If the goal is to dissuade or defeat them, simplest tact might be to first even up the numbers.  Gankers may not even attack when the odds are more balanced.  In that case, if seeking engagement, you may have to waste some skill points on one of the templates for some hiding/stealthing capability.  Plenty of handicap right there, without being outnumbered to boot.
