Scripting Chat / Ter Mur
« on: August 04, 2012, 09:40:43 PM »
I'm sure this has been asked but it's late, I'm drunk and irritated. That said, has anyone come up with a lumberjack script that deals with the Ter Mur anti-scripting (for lack of a better term) tiles? Trying to do some imbuing but nooo, have to have crystal things and they only come from ter mur and from what I've come across, mostly from lumber jacking.
Gave the PvTree recalling script a shot but no go.

Anyone know of a working recall script that will let you select rune books, drop wood and extras, fight and heal via magery/axe, work on Ter Mur, and anything else that would be super cool that I'm not thinking of?

Time to update the hijacked Vodka thread!

While conversing with another lover of Vodka, she suggested what she kept referring to as a "Bee Sting", she had it restaurant where she lives and it consisted of a house-made peppercorn vodka and a delicious treat called Barenjager. I searched high and low but could not find the actual drink mix which has these two ingredients, but she swore up and down this was all that was in it.
My first step was to make the peppercorn vodka, easy enough. 1 Tablespoon of peppercorns to one bottle of vodka (quality doesnt mater, I used Svedka as it's my cheap favorite and one I always have on hand). Let it soak for a week, giving it a good shake every day. Now this was a dangerous combination as I am a lover of pepper, so I would sample it daily as I was giving it it's shake..and Mmmmmm! just a little sipper glass, drinking it warm...ooh yeah was it good! I ended up having to redo my mixture as the bottle was half gone before the week was up, but eventually I had my peppercorn vodka! After the week, strain the peppercorns out and put back in the bottle. The vodka will have a brownish tint to it, I suspect if made with white peppercorns this may not be the case but havent tried that yet.
Second was to find this Barenjager...never heard of it so I did my research again, it's a honey-based liquor. My contact said to look for a bottle with a bee hive on top, sure enough..a little pricey, $30 for a bottle but I was going to follow through with this else I drink my bottle of pepper vodka straight!
The tricky part was the mixture. Since I could not find any recipe for the mixture, and she didnt know how much of each was in, I went 50/50. On the rocks it went and it was darn good! though somehow it just didnt seem right to me, I tried a dash of lemon, it was good but still not what I was after.
I staggered into my bar after several attempts and discovered I was out of ice, so the next would have to be warm..and ooooh yeaaaah!!! 50/50 at room temp. Not something to drink as a party drink, but for an after dinner sipper it is by far one of the best mix drinks I've had in a long time.
To each their own with the ice of course, personally I found it much better at room temperature then iced down, but I'm weird like that.
And for those still with me and who have never heard of it, Barenjager is also something that can be home made, vodka, honey, clove and vanilla seem to be all that are in it. I have yet to try to make this yet though so I cant attest to how well the internet recipes are.

To previous posts...while shopping for my Barenjager, a bottle of that Alaskan Smoked Salmon vodka caught my eye..I figured, what the hell...and I wish I hadnt. Bakon vodka was bad. Salmon vodka is something that should never have been created.
The Cachaca 51 looks like rum from what I could find that was translated, something I will have to try if I can find it. Sounds like it would be pretty good though.

I wish I would have saved a screen shot but a few years back, I think when that long candle quest was about, I had an issue that I had to page on. The GM that responded kept asking me moronic questions that had nothing to do with my problem to the point when I had to step back and ask "Do you even play this game?" to which they responded "Whether or not I play Ultimate Online does not matter...."
I really wish I could have remembered the whole conversation leading up to that. At least not they at least have the canned answers to the games they promote!

This may sound kinda dumb, but how do you get the beetles backpack id? all I can find is the beetle ID?

I'm glad they didnt have that Salmon vodka when I lived up there because I know I want to try it even though I know I would be disgusted by it! But I would give it a try, I have to try them all! But I did pass up Bubble Gum flavor and Cola flavored Vodka, not sure who made them but I know eventually I'll break down and get them. Thankfully I've only seen them in a store that's 4 hours from me.
And a follow up to the Bacon Vodka, if you can make a good bloody mary from scratch it is the way to go but you have to keep the mix just right. I tried to add a splash extra and it went back to terrible.

Good afternoon/morning/evening/day

Took a couple month break from UO to play WoW and EQ2 but decided tonight I wanted to veg out in UO again. So I hopped on my crafter, fired up this awesome script which had worked flawlessly last time I played and suddenly it's not. I read back a few pages and didnt see anything on this so I apologize in advance if this has been addressed.

Starts up fine, I ran it through the setup just because there have been a few patches and I never know if ID's change. I hit start, it opens my drop box in my backpack, opens my secure, grabs a stack of wood and tries to drop it in my backpack bag instead of the beetle I'm using. Wont drop because it puts me way over weight, hops on the bug and rides off into the heartwood sunset, only to get there and realize I am without wood, runs back home and repeats.
I've let it run a few times to see if it would somehow auto correct itself but it just keeps doing the same thing. It's not opening the bugs pack at anytime throughout this either. I know about having to open it on setup but in the past it would work fine after that.
And, since it kept opening my drop bag in my backpack, I tried targeting the beetle for that but no go. Best as I can figure, it's not grabbing the beetle as the last target and instead going back to the loot bag.
Any idea how I should fix this?

Thanks

Ok, here's a new one for me. Bacon flavored vodka. Anyone else had the pleasure of sampling this?
Personally I'm very mixed on this. The smell is very mouth watering and the flavor is good however, since I'm an 'on the rocks' guy it just isnt doing it for me. I think it would be great with a V-8, if only I had one *bonk*

Wonderful again!
I kinda figured the N/A thing but it wasnt clicking that a button would need a non applicable title. And so far I'm learning right along, have managed to make little subs that open and position both my pack and secure and drag and drop each of the items from my pack to my secure, and thanks to camotbik, dragging exactally the ones I want moved. And of course with neo's help I've manged to get my loom and wheel id's, though I'm not using the menu's just yet. I'm starting small!
Once I get it pieced together I'll toss it up here for you all to give a run through to see how many lines I wasted!

Thanks Chrome and Neo.

I'm reading through the very nice tutorial Neo wrote for me and have a question right out of the gate. pretty much first thing you have is the #menubutton <> N/A. the only thing I dont understand is the N/A I'm sure this is something simple that I'll say "oh, duh" for. And also, this may be addressed in your tutorial but havent gotten very far yet, so if this is addressed disregard, and this will be for other things I have in mind as well which is why I ask..when you're using something like finditem %thingIwant c_ with the intent of using Exevent Drag, will that only grab the item in my backpack? For example if I have my pack open with a stack of yarn balls in it and also have a container that I'm dropping into with more balls in it, will it only grab the id in my backpack?
And I did like Chrome's idea about writing each sub separate, making sure it works and then plugging it all back in in the end, which is what I'm going to try to do once I can use EUO again. I played around with the SUO a little but unfortunately since I dont quite understand all the commands yet, I need to actually see it in action to see where I'm goofing up. A lot of my questions will be answered by trial and error once I get to the point of seeing them in action.
If there's a way around waiting for EUO to update, other then not patching (since I cant log in unless I patch) I'd love to know it!

Thanks again!

Yeah, I've heard of live shows on cruises and such where they'll do something similar, they'll put on a murder mystery show with the actors and use people from the audience for different parts without them knowing what they're doing. Always sounded fun but I never had the chance to take part in those.
There was also a show Suicide Girls Must Die, not sure what prompted me to watch that one (lots of naked women doing a calendar shoot  :o) but they did that to them too, killed them off one by one but didnt tell the final survivors that it was a set up. Not sure how real that one was though.

Just curious if anyone else saw this when it was on? I thought it was a great show though it did seem to be fixed to keep the most disliked person on. For those who havent seen or heard of it, it was basically Survivor meets The Mole (about 15 years before either came out). Group of people dropped in a town (full of actors) where someone is murdered and they have to figure out which of the townsfolk was the murderer. At the end of each episode, two people had to go out to get a clue and the murderer was waiting at one of the spots they had to go to, so only one came back.
Anyway, I loved that show other then the 'fixed' part (they kept the most annoying woman who was voted to go each time for 3 or 4 weeks in a row and somehow it was always the other person who was 'murdered'). Would be neat if they would come out with a spin off of that now. Discovery Channel had  something like it I think, though it wasnt as much of a 'game show' and more of an actual end of the world thing.
That or Survival in Zombie Town X! I'd watch that too!

Season 2 Trailer!....

http://youtu.be/grWV8WZtAQc

If you haven't seen the first season I highly recommend it! I can't wait for October 16!!!

Also, if you've read the graphic novel, PLEASE do NOT spoil anything!

I just hope this season has a better finale. I was sorely disappointed with the end of season 1. It was almost like they didnt expect it to go on that long so they just threw some ideas in a hat as to how to finish it.  Of course I am a bit of a zombie fanatic..drives my wife nuts. I'd rather watch zombies then sparkly vampires (which is her favorite)!

Wonderful, thank you!

Quote
I learned by reading through other (working) scripts and trying to understand what code was performing what actions in the game

made me think of

Anyway! How do you determine the position? I was able to figure out that :
Code: [Select]
set %catposx 30
set %catposy_map 90
set %selposx 230[/li]
Is the position setter. Is there a map that determines the locations vs coordinates? If EUO was updated I would just throw random numbers in and figure this out, but since it's not I'll ask!

Thanks again!

Follow up question and I think I know the answer, but when setting the ID's

Code: [Select]
set %cart_tool CXF
set %blank_scroll DPF
set %crafted_map XVH

are the %items predefined? or can you use whatever you wish? such as:

Code: [Select]
set %writerjobber_with_feather CXF
set %overpriced_rolled_paper DPF
set %pretty_drawing XVH

Thanks thanks again

Scripting Chat / Looking for pointers
« on: August 13, 2011, 06:09:30 PM »
Good day

I'm on a mission. I'm an extreme novice when it comes to writing scripts. I have a basic understanding of what is going on when I read through them, in my younger years I learned the basics of Vbasic going blind entering in 100000's of lines of 'if then goto', but writing a scipt myself has left me a bit on the frustrated side. A while back I decided I wanted to write a simple script to move stacks of yarn balls from my backpack to a secure. I failed. I yelled. I swore. I gave up. Today the flame of wanting this has been rekindled.

Here's my new goal:

target a secure which will contain wool and cotton
use all of one on the wheely thing
move stacks of thread/yarn to secure as they're made
once all cotton and wool are gone switch to using yarn/thread on stringy thing
move bolts of cloth into secure
end

Seems rather complex for a first script but I have a feeling it wont be all that difficult once I get going. Here's where I need some help. The tutorials I read were very well done here, but I couldnt find anything on dragging stacks, setting a location for dragging to, or much on subs and loops. Did I overlook them?

I'm guessing the basic layout will be something like:

Setup: (to get all the ID's)
 target/set secure
target/set wheely thing(s) -eventually using more then one but for now..one
 target/set stringy thing
--
Main:
open and position secure on screen
open and position backpack on screen (not sure if these would be in the main loop)
    Thread:
look for cotton in secure if <0 use on wheely thing if =0 goto Yarn
wait for wheely thing to finish
drag stack of thread to secure
      repeat

    Yarn:
same as thread using wool TYPE and yearn TYPE instead
      if =0 goto Tbolt

    Tbolt:
look for spools of thread in secure if <5 (or whatever the amount is to make bolts) use on stringy thing if >5 goto Ybolt
      wait 1 second
      repeat 5 times
        drag bolt to secure

    Ybolt:
Same as Tbolt replacing #needed if >#
         halt
end (not sure if end would be needed since everything is step by step finalizing with halt after the last group is out of materials.)
--
That's my basic plan, not a fast get'r'done script but for the time, just something to make me feel like a script writer! Main points I need help with, obviously the actual commands and syntax. Also opening containers and positioning them on screen. And would this work? will it drag stacks from my pack to an open secure containing the same items? or will it confuse it to just keep grabbing and dropping into the same container?
Any and all help, suggestions, pointers, directions and information is accepted with open arms.

Thanks!
