Title: Ghost items
Post by: redkittie on December 04, 2008, 09:34:35 AM
Im gonna call them ghost items for lack of a better term. When testing a script I am running, when it drags stacks of items and drops in a container sometimes I notice another stack in my backpack that I cant seem to move. When I double click my backpack it will disappear. The script is trying to move this stack and causing it to fail. Is there a way to keep this from happening? Some thing I can change in the script?

The way we fixed this issue is to open the source container before you drag from it.  This seems to refresh the contents and will solve most of your ghosting issues.  We use this method in the quester and now rarely have a ghosting problem.  Hope that helps.

And I've said this before but figured it's worth mentioning when this comes up, I can readily duplicate this issue manually with absolutely no scripting involved.

Has anyone but me seen this without scripting?

Oh, I've definitely had this happen to me by normal gameplay.

Do you ever use Razor or are you a UOA man?

Both, but lately I've been more Razor.

Yea I get this all the time moving things without a script too. Big pain in the ass.

Isn't it a bit ironic that we've fixed it using scripts?

Well actually we work around it, the problem still exists, but scripts allow us to avoid the issue.

How about others? Have you noticed it more/less with or without Razor? Probably unrelated but it seems like it happens to me less without Razor.

I mean by this is when I'm just playing without the use of scripts/Razor/UOA/etc.  I can induce this by hand.

Today my easyuo has 7 tabs open to enhance my gameplay.

I don't know what I would do without it.
