Post by: tandj99 on May 09, 2012, 04:34:12 PM
looking for a char that can do spawns and stay alive if attacked by player. here are my skills so far

120 Anat
120 Resist
120 Tactics
120 Throwing
90 healing

What other skills should i have on the char.

Willing to spend whatever needed for an insane suit as well.

I'm about to build my first thrower myself with the same idea in mind. I know there is quite a lot of informaiton in the Samurai thread/s so you could start there. There are a few people here that have mastered the art of solo-pvm that can give some great advice!

I have 3 throwers already for doing champ spawns and for the most part any other monster (except slasher he kicks my ass) my main problem I in pvp. I'm sure the healing will help since non of my other throwers have it. They use vamp form and the one necro spell to leach health. I think the suit will have alot to do with it as well. And with just finding out my char can cast (if I have regs) the healing stone which will help as well for staying alive

i run two throwers and have been doing rikki alot lately.  the temp im using is this;
120 throwing
115 swords
90 tactics
90 anat
90 healing
100 necro
100 resists

I never get raided so dont know about pvp.  Think im missing one other skill will have to check later today.  whirlwind spawn then when rikkis up switch to throwing.  90 tactics, i still do 200+ ai's to rikki.  run in vamp form and bandies.

I was told by several different people that anything less than 120 resist was not worth the skills points (I'm sure that was for pvp though not pvm)

That's mainly the case for PvP. For PvM, I always just run with GM.

Personally I'd suggest not going the wraith thrower route if you plan to do any pvping with the char at all since being on foot really is a disadvantage.

To solo spawns comfortably with the ability to survive a pvp encounter I'd suggest a TBC. It's basically the old ABC archer with throwing instead of archery. It dishes out good damage and has good a survival rating.

But for anything else I'd favor the wraith thrower.

The temp I like to use for all around PvM (spawns, boss encounters, etc) is as follows (it also works ok for pvp while defending spawns):
120 Anatomy
91 Healing
120 Throwing
110 Tactics
100 Bushido
90 Chiv (120 from jewels)
89 Necromancy (99 from jewels)

Use 45 hci from items (+5 hci racial); set your stats so that after items/potions/petals you are 150 str/150 dex; on armor imbue: stamina increase so you're above 180, lots of mana increase, 40% lower mana cost, and lots of SSI (Breastplate of Berserker, Ranger's Cloak of Augmentation, Turquoise Ring, Always 30 ssi on soul glaive), and I use reforged luck pieces for that boost. Be sure to use your backpack wisely - trapbox, apples, potions, enhanced bandaids.

As far as weps go use appropriate slayer, hit mana leech, 30 ssi. Get karma up to +19,000 and Divine fury gives you an extra 15% ssi, damage increase boost, and hit chance increase boost.

Hope that helps, goodluck!
