Interesting actical.. but the wirttter is just a little politically unbiased... and by a little i mean alot. He uses activism likes its a dirty word..

But at the end of the day, weather global warming be true or false .. i dont think its a good idea to sell your green stock.. people want free/cheaper energy and the only way to achieve that in the long term is via renewable energy...  And personally i live in florida and can technically produce all the energy i will ever need on my roof... but the price is so high no one does it.   Currently its about a 20year return on your investment.. and when the panels etc dont come with a 20+ year warrently and are not catagory 5 hurricane resistant.. well you understand why no ones doing it yet.

But as soon as it drops to a 5year return or less you will see a massive market here in florida and i should imagine everywhere.

i don't know anyone that likes pollution or destroying the planet and i'm all for sustainable energy and saving the forests.  the problem with the current warming theory is it's being used as an excuse to create a massive new global tax scheme on anything that belches CO2.  CO2 is required for life on earth.  it's not a pollutant and there is scant evidence showing that human activities are responsible for any climate change.  now that the IPCC has been caught falsifying data, discrediting scientists with dissenting views, and just generally being corrupt bastards i think it's important to question the motives behind the global warming debate.  even before this came to light there were scores of prominent influential scientists skeptical about claims and the data being used to support those claims.

hell man, I wish *I* had time to play with it =D

p.s. Just made a tiny update, but it won't be released right now unless anyone actually needs it (doubtful).  RazorLoader no longer depends on DEVPATH environment variable which is how it was loading Ultima.dll without linking to it.  I finally found a better way that doesn't involve any config files like the RazorLoader.exe.config I currently use.

get it from the usual suspects.
this will likely be my last update for the holiday season unless any major bugs are found.

On my old machine I used NOD32 because it's very light on resources, and middle of the road on effectiveness.
However, I swear by F-Secure.   It offers very good protection against unknown threats and is fairly light on resource usage.

There's a magazine dedicated to AV called Virus Bulletin.  They run exhaustive tests using off the shelf software vs. in-the-wild pests.  Sophos is rated highest in the latest VB100 review I think and Kaspersky also got an award.  F-Secure received an award earlier this year and has received them in the past.

When I settled on F-Secure a while back, it was probably the best AV around.  But now they use a different core engine and other AVs are evolving as well, so it's very hard to say at any given time what the best AV is.  It is however usually easy to decide on the worst:  Norton and McAfee  :)  historically the free ones were always crap too but maybe that's changed...

make/model?  HD upgrade will be cheap, not sure about RAM.  best to buy RAM sooner than later while the RAM is being produced in big batches with lots of competition.  if you're only getting the HD for archive data, you could get a cheap external USB one, i just got a 500gb with a western digital inside for $65 with free shipping.
