UO Machine Corner / Re: UO Machine Alpha 3 Revision 2 released
« on: November 04, 2009, 11:36:46 PM »
Unfortunately, debugging is not possible right now, and won't be for a while.  I mentioned a while back somewhere (my forums i think) that it might be possible, but i lied.  I was thinking about the previous version of UOM which was structured completely differently.

For debugging I recommend using message boxes, or MacroEx.SystemMessage to output variables, other than that script exceptions are caught by UOM and logged to file w/ stack trace.

p.s. Current dev build has fixed BOF in MacroEx.SystemMessage (lacked null terminator), and also catches exceptions that bubble up out of scripts into UOM.

that's a badass looter.  i started work on my own score/rating based looter, it's getting fairly massive.  my goals for beta:  add in missing packets, possibly a rewritten packet handler that's closer to RunUO's system, but the main thing is code completion.

i'm right now moving my dev environment over to W7 x64.  I'll then be testing newer alpha builds of AvalonEdit from ic#code and moving forward with code completion.  Code completion will add some more requirements to UOM including .Net Framework 4, mono libraries, etc.

Code: [Select]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UO Machine Alpha 3 Revision 2 (10/29/09):

Bugfix:     No more force closings of Razor clients.  Razor loader split into it's own
project;  it's now a console exe.
Bugfix:     Data.Cliloc.GetLocalString(int property, string[] arguments) updated to
            properly parse embedded cliloc strings.
Bugfix:     Double entries are now filtered from WorldItem.Properties.
Update:     WorldItem.Properties (and it's derived types) renamed to PropertyText.  This
is still decoded item properties stored as a multi-line string.
Update:     WorldItem.Properties (and derived types) is now type UOMachine.Property[].
Update:     Facet.Stygian_Abyss enum entry renamed to Ter_Mur.
Feature:    MacroEx.TestPacket added, mostly for me, which allows an incoming or outgoing
packet to be sent to UO Machine in order observe how it's handled.
Feature:    UOMachine.Property class added, has 3 properties: string Text which is the
entire property decoded as a string i.e. "lower reagent cost 14%", int Cliloc
which is the cliloc entry for the property i.e. 1060434, and string[]
Arguments which are the arguments for the cliloc i.e. { "14" }.

Anyway, the most recent find I've made on the music scene is a band called Walls of Jericho. If you are down with the Metalcore scene then you have got to check them out. The singer is a chick and on the newest album you would never even know it. She is smokin!

XII

that chick is badass.  in the song i listened to she was the only one that shined, but i'll have to track down some more.  i'm really picky about the metal i listen to... have some lamb of god in right now.

Man Xenoglyph, you come up with the strangest stuff!  Cool, though.  It's kinda like Borat meets Tenacious D.  lol

i'm innocent this time, it's her fault!  they were at 4th and B a couple weeks ago, bummed that I couldn't go :(

Just checked em out Coragin, not bad, but not my style...thanks for sharing.  If anyone feels bad about not having any music to contribute feel free to go find some and report back  ;D

A while back I was approached by a chick who asked me if I'd heard of a band called Gogol Bordello.  I said bordello what?  She said I looked like the lead singer and assured me that was a good thing (she lied).  So I asked her what type of music they played and she told me "gypsy punk".  At that moment I knew one thing: I had to check this band out...and I'm glad I did, they kick ass.  The Cd "Gypsy Punks Underdog World Strike" is especially good.

Think a group of eastern europeans playing accordion/violin, banging on buckets and singing heavily accented punk themed lyrics.  Sounds awesome, right?

i'm a fan of XP64, but nobody makes drivers anymore.  hell, there were barely drivers for it when it was current.  remember that Vista/W7 and 2k3 x64 have different driver architectures.

i'm currently running a customized, trimmed down W7 and couldn't be happier.  use vlite to remove a lot of crap, then after install manually disable services you don't need.  you can disable a lot. (don't delete services like some vlite users do)

check out the vlite forum @ msfn:
http://www.msfn.org/board/vlite-f153.html

and about RAM usage, it's comparing apples to oranges.  Vista/W7 keep a lot of stuff in RAM on purpose.  It saves the OS from having to load it from disk again.  As soon as RAM is needed by an application the old stuff gets cycled out.  it's actually more efficient and the OS tries harder to use your RAM for the purpose it's designed for.

10-12 months ago i'd say intel, but you can't beat that price.  tbh i think a Q9400 will OC just as high as that chip, but if you're not overclocking then i'd go for AMD for sure.

i've got my intel C2D 3.0 ghz (e8400) easily running at 4ghz on air (and it runs very cool).  i'll probably upgrade to quad one of these days.

Badass game.  I hardly ever play my xbox, but after I got home from work I had to have another go.  It's like Fallout meets Diablo.  I'm still at the beginning of the game (level 7 soldier) , but it's been fun as hell so far.  I thought it was too easy for a moment, until I started meeting level 9 baddies....boy was I wrong.

My only complaint so far is enemy AI, but that's always my complaint.  They intelligently use cover, but their pathfinding skills are lacking.

forgot to mention, there's now an option for always light patch in Options -> Client.  this is a straight up patch, it's not packet based.
