Let me know what monitors you get! (I have 3 beautiful Dell monitors!)

Also, I'd advise going with the Western Digital drives with 64MB caches: (Also 6.0 Gb/s SATA)

Ok, got stuff in a public wish list on newegg....

Check it out HERE

*how do you share a public wishlist on newegg??

I'm over by $100, but I'm adding Win7...

I dropped from 8GB mem to 4GB mem which, with the other adjustments, allows a LiteScribe DVD burner and an ATI 5770 Video Card. I'll never do the CrossFire crap, I did that once and had nothing but problems, not worth it at all.

So... what do you think? Areas of improvement? I did consider a different Asus MB with the 4290 video instead of this ones 4250, but since I added a video card I figured the onboard video didn't matter any longer.

1. Graphics card - try looking around to see if you can find another graphics card around the same price range but preferably with a longer warranty (BFG normally has lifetime warranties as do a few others). Also, 256-bit memory on the graphics card is much nicer than 128-bit.

2. Ram - looks nice! decent price for what its going for nowadays. I have had no problems with my Corsair XMS RAM

3. Burner - Lightscribe is awesome! I love it! Lite-on always makes good drives

4. Motherboard - Excellent choice! I almost bought one myself. Here's one that seems identical and is $10 cheaper (The model is M4A88T-V instead of TD-V so maybe you can look up the difference): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131668

5. Processor - Can't be beat at this time! 6 cores for under $200! (Although AMD just announced their new APU's with grapics and everything combined onto one chip)

I'm actually debating the graphics card. I can get by with on board graphics, I don't play any intensive games on my pc at all.... so if I do upgrade in the future, I could always add it in later.

I may swap out the graphics card and swap in that Western Digital 1TB Black drive.

Looks like that MB you listed doesn't support SATA 6G, few other things. South Bridge is different.

Yea if you're not playing any CoD or stuff like that, then just use onboard for now. Try going with a Velociraptor WD drive. I just got one for mine (640gb) and it's dirty fast!! 10k rpm instead of the measly 7200. Also, you can get much larger than an SSD for the same price

Those are way pricey!

10,000 SATA 6.0, 300GB is $169.99!!

I'll stick with the 7200 SATA 6.0, 1TB for $89.99 for now....

If you don't do much 3d gaming the 5770 is PLENTY fast enough for what you want.  I'd get one with 1gig of ram on board if you can.  If you think on board is ok for you, then by all means, but to get the latest bells and whistles, you can't go wrong with a 5770.  Cheap, and pretty powerfull for the money.
