Visited Bass Pro Shop and picked up a sweet ultra-lite spinning setup and got a great deal on a fully loaded fly fishing rod/reel.

I've always wanted to learn to fly fish... now I can try it.

LOL, well, since I am only a father to a golden retriver...I did almost the same thing, I went to Cabella's last week and picked up a very nice ultra light spinning combo, hoping to get out today or tomorrow to try it out!!

I have a fly rod...never been used, I hafta find some place to learn how to tie the knots...u know, the fly line onto the backing. When my wife and I got married 3 years ago her wedding presant to me was a 1 day guided fly fishing trip. Most fun I EVER had fishing..caught 2 Greman Browns, and 2 Rainbow, the smallest was about 1.5 Lbs, and the largest was 4lbs..talk about FUN!!!

I got to take care of my 3 year old solo while my wife left town to go visit family for the weekend with my 8-year old. Makes for a real nice Bday/FathersDay huh? Nothing like getting up at 5:00am to get kids dressed and fed on your day :-[

But that's what being a father is really about so I guess I shouldn't complain.
