Gaming Mouse

ok.. I love my Mouse, Except for its Functionality atm.
I bought it about 2 years ago.  Its a Logitech Wireless Trackball, now I've been using trackballs for about 10 years now.. I love them.. but this mouse now.. I can't drag items, double clicking can be a pain in the ass, and now and than if I happen to be dragging an Item, it will randomly drop it. sometimes into a group a backpacks, then pick up a backpack at the same time.  its getting to Annoying.. so I'd like your Opinion on a New mouse for me to buy.
for trackballs. I don't like using Thumb Balls mice.. and the only one Available is the one I already have.
so I'm thinking I might have to go back to a Traditional Mouse... lazer I believe is the best way to go now.  Id like a decent one that's not going to hit my pocket to deep.  also, Scroll Wheel, and Forward and back buttons are a must. Additional Mouse buttons would be nice for gaming as well :)

I use a MX518 (Logitech). Not over priced, two thumb buttons, change resolution on the fly.

It's not the flashiest, but it works pretty well. I wish it had the "tip wheel" though.

Personally I don't care what mouse I use as long as it is not wireless. Wireless = batteries = death for no damn good reason. just my 2 cents.

I have my wired G3 and love it.  Basic feel, but gaming performance.  Doen't feel like you are holding a steam iron.

Thanks everyone for the great info... the wife took me to best buy last night and I was able to test out over 20 different mice, I ended up going with the G5.  Very Sweet Mouse.. up to 2000 DPI, though its a little to fast for you, you can change it on the fly which is real nice.  its got the scroll wheel, that even goes side to side as 2 extra buttons.. can't wait to see if I can use this in UOA for extra macro buttons. :)

Nice mouse. That's the only thing I wish mine had.

Just wanted to throw my vote in for my Razer Copperhead. This is an AWESOME gaming mouse (and looks pretty damn cool to boot). It's a no BS mouse without a ton of frills but it's a high-res, high performance piece of machinery and runs under $50. Mine is the Tempest Blue.
