After having suggested to Trailmyx to add this forum section over a year ago, I finally have something I can post about in here!
For the past several weeks, I have been beating up on Medusa in the hopes of getting a drop. Weeks went by and nothing except the constant Stone Dragon's tooth (a Gargoyle Weapon, when unraveled yields one or two relic fragments) would drop into my backpack.
FINALLY, today I read the writing on the left side of the screen when she died and it stated, "A Special Gift has been bestowed upon you for defeating this creature...!" Low and behold, I look into my backpack and there is a deed. On the deed it says, 'A Medusa Floor tile'. I recalled to my home and double-clicked it on the first floor of my house and a miniature version of the Medusa Floor Carving (of her face and snake-like hair) that is in her lair is now in my House! Woo Hoo!

The floor tile is the reason I'm farming components for Gorgon Lens non-stop these days. My strategy has changed from two tamers (PITA to control both) to a whammy with a tamer/mage/bard to kill the statues and constant heal. Tamer will not attack medusa at all, since the Whammy ought to be enough to kill her when discoed.
Up to about three dozen gorgon lenses. I'm going to be in that room for a while 8)

Where are you farming the crystal for the gorgon lens? SHouldn't take that long! HOLY CRAP MY CPU Just wnet through the Roof, comp sounds like a jet! need to fix this!

Best place to farm the Shimmering Crystals to make the Crystal Dust for the Gorgon Lenses is to kill the Crystal demons in the Prism of Light. Practically every Demon drops a Crystal. You can even grind the ones down that have timers.
Also, if you didn't know it, Ancient Pottery fragments also grind down into Crystal Dust in the same proportions.
I could sure use a Script for the tedious task of farming the Serpent Eggs...that's the boring part!

After doing 7 medusas today I got 4 stone dragon's tooth and the other stupid snake staff. I did get a berserker's breastplate off one of the bodys.

Does anyone know if the floor Tile can be dyed?

Dyed? Thats a good question as in a Tower, Keep, or Castle it might not show up as well. I have mine in an 18x18 on the white marble floor.
Curtains can be dyed, but Virtue tiles can't be dyed, so i am assuming that this cannot be dyed.

it is one of the coolest drops out there. We ended up doing 7 in total... got that floor deed , the new fey bow, and the venom... nothing else worth mention.

My first Medusa I got the Fey slayer bow. We destroyed her with 3 sampires and a discorder. Key gathering took 3 times longer than it took to kill her! LoL I'm more of a Navrey fan personally. I've already gotten 2 Tangles off her in maybe 20 times killing her

Respawn timer for Navery SUCKS!! I hate standing around for 10 minutes waiting to fight again. I get bored quickly and leave lol.

We usually go back and forth between killing Navrey and Slasher, just so we don't get too bored

Jaf and I have gotten pretty good at doing these peerless . Slasher..a cpl of Bush archers with the discorder on a roof. Stygian..2 Bush archers. Medusa..2 bush dexers with a discorder..all standing in a corner to avoid the spawn. The achers use the correct imbued mana leech slaying bows and the Dexers with imbued bladed staffs. LOTS of arti drops..key is to party up on the way in and then drop party once in. Multiple drops.
We have spoken about a script for the Discorder to allow one person to go in with 2 clients and "solo" it.

Yeah... that will most likely be a "private stock" or elite script ;) Not that making a discorder will be that hard, but the other features we talked about would be a little more powerful than I would normally release to the public.

We found with slasher that it's best to just use Healing Dexers (mix/match the rest of the template) and just cross heal each other as if it were yourself so you have much faster heals and you just surround him so he doesn't move (discorder stands back). Since you can heal when you're frozen, it works fine! Orange petals help of course!

Yeah, that's an option for slasher I suppose. But, when you actually prefer to play either solo or with only 1 or 2 other people this option goes out the window. SolidSnake and myself can do all the baddies with just him and me. More people equals more chaos. More chaos equals more deaths. Not to mention I much rather split the drop rate with 1 person than 10.
Just my opinion of course, Im kinda a loner anyway.

Is there any truth to the more people that breaking party after entering creates far more chances for drops? If so this is important information. That would mean that though not likely... you could get multiple tangles and other drops. that is what i read here some where in the forums.
Also, does anyone have an afk egg collector that works well? man i could use one... a stealth version would be amazing but with two grad classes coming to a close There just isn't a lot of time to make one happen , test it and comb over it like I tend to do.

Well even with just 2 dexers cross-healing it works great! (Just takes longer, obviously) Same goes for Navrey and Medusa. I would love to have a stealth egg collector! I'd do Medusa all the time then (even though I just finished up my Navrey killing char)

What SolidSnake and I have experienced first hand is this;
When he and I first started doing these we always stayed partied and when we got a drop it would always be a single drop to a single character, either me or him. We decided to do some slashers one night, and there were 3-4 other random people there when we first arrived. Snake and I had not partied, and we just started in killing slasher with the other random people. When it was over, Snake got a drop, I got a drop and 2 of the other random people got a drop. 3 of the 4 were identical items. After that, we did a few more of these peerless (or whatever they are calling the new boss monsters in the abyss) and we continued to stay partied up. I thought about it one night, and said hey Snake, let's just party to get inside then break the party to see if we get multiple drops again. Sure enough, we broke party and we both got drops. We have done more than a few of the new peerless monsters since then, always breaking party. More often than not, we each get a drop. Once in a while, neither of us will get a drop, and once in a while only one of us will get a drop. But, also, once in a while we will get multiple drops PER CHAR! For instance, we will get one of the new arties AND a 3.0 scroll both on one character. So far we have not both gotten 2 drops (scroll and artie) on both characters at the same time.
So, with all that being said, we have proven that at least in our case, if we break party we get more drops in total because we each get the drop normally.

Well don't compare Slasher to Medusa or anything else. He seems to always drop 3-4 arties each time when we do it. Only once have we ever done it when he dropped less than 2. But if you find yourself getting multiple drops on other peerless/reknowned, then it might be true about the party stuff. My understand has always been that it's better to drop party. If I remember correctly, partying ups your overall chance of getting something by combining the luck of all the party members in some way. However then you ALL have a single change of getting something vs. having LESS luck individually but EACH having a chance. At least that was my interpretation.

Snake and I are getting multiple drops from every new peerless, not just slasher. Maybe its just our dumb luck, maybe thats how its supposed to work... I have no idea. But either way, Snake and I are NOT complaining!

i did four medusa's tonight and only one drop each. With two peeps attacking. i dropped party after we started attacking but not much damage was done. is the key to drop prior to her popping inside or were u dropping during the killing process. just trying to narrow it down because it did not work tonight.

I did a couple Medusas with SolidSnake and JaF tonight. They dropped it the second we were all in the room before Medusa spawned. Once in the two (or was it three?) times we did it, there was multiple a drop. I believe Snake got the Ironwood bow and I got the gargoyle only reptile slayer thing.

C2, we typically drop as soon as we get in the room. We almost always get multiple drops. As I said before, once in a while we only get a single drop, but that does not seem to be the normal. Also once in a while along with getting multiple drops one person will get 2 item drops instead of 1. Again, this is not the norm, but it does happen. Sometimes the drops for multiple characters are the same, sometimes they are not. Talked to some of our guildies who chained Stygian with Snake yesterday during the day. On most of the Stygies they got multiple drops, to include a couple of times when two or more of them got the Fallen Mystics Spellbook as the drop.
Still yet, once in a while we get no drop at all. Again not the norm. Maybe the RNG has just been working in our favor. Or possibly, it's just Snake's good luck..... He IS a lucky bas**rd!!

Well..I am not sure what to think. Yesterday..we did 9 medusa's and a few slashers..HORRID drops...for me..others did ok..I think the RNG was just hating on me yesterday.
Overall..the drop party process has worked incredibly better than partied..on all of these mobs.
That stealth egg hunter... *adopts puppy dog begging face*

The RNG hated Snake yesterday..... tonight, being the lucky bastard he is... he got the Slither!... then the next Medusa, another guy who went with us got the Slither also!.... RNG was hating on me big time tonight. Cpl bows and Petrified snakes.. bah.

I did seven medusas in a row with party drop (two guys hitting) prior to it spawning. got NOTHING!!!! stayed partied for the next one and got the bow. Broke party for the next one and got the stone tooth (only one player got the item). I don't know i think we were just having crap luck.

It was a decent night..we were getting heavy drops..but it was things like that damn snake staff and such..I got 5 of those, besides a bow and the Slither.
I could do much better research if I only had (a brain...no) a stealth egg hunter...*nudge nudge**wink wink*..all the same to a blind bat..ya know..ya know... (old Monty Pythoners will appreciate that)..
And now for something completely different...

In all seriousness..the drops are dramatically heavier with party dropped vs not dropped.

Well, in all honesty, RNG has sucked for the last 2-3 days. Snake and I did 10 Medusa's and 10 Stygians tonight. I think we got 1-2 bows and 1 book... we got maybe 15 or so drops total, but they just all sucked... anyone need 25 stone dragons teeth? lol... useless piece of garbage wont even unravel into a relic!

A guildmate and I did about 20 of them the other day. My stealther was gathering keys faster than we could kill medusa LOL. I farmed up about 150 gorgon lenses and we used every last one. I was on a sampire + a mysto mage and he was on 3 sampires and a disco necro. OWNED

did eight tonight and only one was dropless got two bows and the rest was garbage gargoyle only pieces. Haven't had a major drop in there in about 30 medusa's now... i am super due

I bet that they will sit around 500k-1 mil on busy shards when all is said and done. I sold two for 6 mil a pop this past weekend. If you don't want to spend the time collecting eggs, crystals to make crystal dust, make gorgon lens, and then actually get to killing her... it is worth some gold to save the time. I would say 1-2 mil will be the price within a few weeks and last for a couple months before hitting 500k- 1 mil range. Slow shards do have an advantage for a bit of time though as the medusa is not being farmed so heavily.
BTW.. any slayers for this thing? I have been using a 100% fire wep and it does pretty well but I would love to hear about the best wep out there.

We use Imbued Repond slaying Long Swords for fencers and bladed staffs for swordsmen. Imbued with 25 SSI, max mana and max life leech. Hits like a truck, for around 200 pts AI. With the mana leech, you can AI then next swing lightning strike, next swing switch back to AI, over and over again, never losing mana.

Back in the day, I had one character that could spend an eternity down in Doom and never ever got a single drop. I had other characters that could go down for 5 mins and get a drop. I always thought that some how that first character must have been bugged or something.

Yeah, my pvp archer has something similar to this. I'll duel guildmates who have the same exact template and suit as me, but i'll land/block 2x the hits they do.

Another few Medusas, another bunch of crap drops.... although I did learn one very important thing. Another guy went in with us last night... the new guy disarmed Medusa.... HOLY CRAP!! DO NOT DISARM HER! In a full 70s suit, she was hitting me for 130 -160 per hit! When you have 133 HP, you can imagine what happens when she hits you like that... suddenly your screen goes grey and you think to your self, the next time this guy disarms her I'm gonna stop killing her and start killing HIM!
