Stealth v6.0


Thanks to the extreme hard work of Vizit0r and the rest of the stealth team, I am happy to introduce Stealth v6.0 -- The most powerful UO client available.


Here is a brief overview of the Version 6.0 feature set:

For Everyone:

 - Standalone UO Client [Does not require Client.exe to operate]
 - Support for Classic Client & Enhanced Client (new versions of EC not supported ... yet?)

 - Support for Encrypted and Non-Encrypted Clients
 - Support OSI and the vast majority of player shards
 - All-In-One Multi-Client Solution (Connect all of your accounts in one instance of Stealth)
 - Dynamic Client Version Emulation (Don't like upgrading on Patch Day? No problem, Stealth handles that.)
 - Native support for UOP and MULs

 - Ultima Client Helper Application (ClientDLL) for UOAssist / Razor-type functionality

 - Auto-Upgrade Mechanism (Always keep latest version of Stealth installed)
 - Built in mapping system / coordinate tracking

 - Anti-Encryption Mode included for FreeShard Implementations (Abyss, Vetus-Mundus, etc.)

 - Razor Negation Feature

For Scripters:

 - Built-in Pascal Scripting Language

At Weekend i will rework all my Tutorials for Stealth and add also some Samples for .Net :)

And yeah finally we were able to Release it !!

Ok I give this a try.   First can you tell me if I have the right Client.   Top left it said  UO Stealth Client (V4.3.6)    If yes.  I follow the tutorial and now the client wont start, it just crash.    Did i miss something.

Complications have arisen across many client platforms since new patch. Namely, AssistUO, Razor and Stealth. Stealth devs are working on resolving the issue currently. :)

Ok.... I have a silly Question for anyone who knows.. I see that the most recent version of Stealth is RC 5 V. 3 to fix the patch stuff, but won't I don't see is where I check that information.....  When I pull up Stealth this is what I see...   I just don't see where it tells me...

This just happens when you have multiple creatures that are targeting you.  We will fix this in future.

For your other question regarding release candidate versions -- you just showed me a bug I need to fix.  But just look at the build date, that should be clue enough that you are at the latest.

Vizitor added some hints if unknown data appears so we can implement the usage of it.
Good would be if you can tell us how this happend or a packet log. So we can analyze it

Yea.. I was sure I had the right Stealth Version Orich bc I saw that it was uploaded like 20 minutes ago when I DL it heh..  I was just wondering if I was completely missing something obvious etc.

Ok I had a permissions issue trying to start the client

Firstly it couldn't create the steal.cfg file and bombed .. so i created it manually.  then it could not read uo.cfg !!!  (as the error below shows)
(running win7 64bit. )


In case anyone else has this issue .. the fix is to right click properties of the "ultima online classic" folder , then security tab.  add the permission "write" to the Group - Users  (also make sure read is checked)

I had this issue with Windows 8 64 Bit. Solution were :
- Close Stealth
- Delete all config files from stealth
- Restart As Stealth with Admin rights.

Never popped up again.

Server Tab
"Server Mode" => Full Mode


I recommend watching the video tutorial.  It will save these headaches.

Now why can't just load regular UO    I got the Couldn't connect to UO,  Please  try again in a few momnet.    I can connected using Stealth but not Regular UO.  Did stealth took over now.   And yes my second machine can log into UO.

Now someone need to update the Adobe tutorial  p6/32  How to Connect.    MAKE SURE SELECT "USE "STEAL.CFG instead LOGIN.CFG"   very inportant.

RC5 v4 released.   Many fixes and optimizations.

I don't know if its my imagination, but Client.exe seems to run a lot faster now.  Go test, tell me what you guys think.



Also, I added the GIT revision / commit hash to the RC5 changelog ... now you can reconcile your downloaded version with what I release on the front page

With or without Client.dll?
I had this with client.dll on my windows XP SP3 Developer VM but werent be able to repeat yet.

after stepping through a house teleporter  the client does not show the new house and surrounding house structures just their bases.  Closing client and restarting it  (without disconnect) fixes the issue.   Repeated stepping back and forth after the initial client close and reopen works fine with no display issues.   Cache/refresh issue of some-kind ??

Yea it's definitely the client_dll.dll
If I rename that the Chinese (?) goes back to english.

There is no localization involved for this.

Yea it's definitely the client_dll.dll
If I rename that the Chinese (?) goes back to english.

I can't re-create this bug.  Next time this happens, go to "Stealth-Client DLL Form" window, go to Display Tab, and try turning it on/off ... or try adding a custom display word (you can leave Type = 0)

Very strange, and kinda funny.

Just to verify a few things ...

I did notice that even with Displayed Checked.  When my character runs around the display bar at the top will flash from displaying "A" to a string of chinese and back.  It seems kinda random and changes as I'm moving around.

v6.1.0 Released.

The only major glitch that didn't make it in was the Client.exe world items not displaying after certain resync events (recalling, house teleport tiles, etc.)

I promise we will fix this.  In the mean time, simply run off screen then run back on to fix this issue.  Sometimes other resync events like dismount/mount or teleporting can redraw everything correctly (thanks dxrom).

Define "Normal Scripts".

Do you mean EasyUO scripts? No those don't work since this isn't EasyUO. This is Stealth. It's better than EasyUO and thus shouldn't be limited by the atrociousness that is an EasyUO script!

It does however support scripts written in Pascal, C# and Python!

It really depending on the people around here to publish scripts. That Idoc-Finder is from Orich.

From past experiences with other scripting projects, it takes a long time for people to start adopting the new stuff.  Don't get disheartened, the more sample code, tutorials and snippets out there, the more comfortable people will become with trying something new.

My IDOC Finder is not publicly available -- it was only meant as an example of the possibilities with Stealth.

As for your Auto Fishing script, this might be something I can write as a sample script.  I'd need some direction on what exactly a fishing script would do, and what would make it the best one ever made?  I don't fish in UO ... hell I barely play nowadays.

For fishing right now I use 4 scripts lol.

The Script.Net dll is a 1:1 clone from delphi api for .net. It reflects exactly, what Stealth can handle or not :)
We also working on a ScriptAPI with base classes for specific handling. Its not perfect tinkered yet but can be very helpful.
Right now i rewrite the gump class for gump handling, when iam done with it i may finish my first full script for Stealth in .Net :)

I've been pretty busy lately ... there was a barely-updated version released with the egg finding script.

There hasn't been much response to the .NET work, so I've been allocating my already-little free time to debugging Stealth with Vizit0r since he is typically doing 99% of the Stealth.exe work by himself.

StealthDotNet.DLL is falling behind a bit in updates too ... but I literally have nobody testing it, so if I don't write a script that uses specific functions, I have no way of knowing if they need to be updated.

So I'm a total noob when it comes to doing UIs in Pascal.  Can form-style code be used from Stealth?  Do I have to use the Delphi product or can something like Lazarus be used?  The only way I can remember the name "Lazarus" is to relate it to the Porcupine Tree song with the same name..  lol..

Sounds like a major headache.  So can you get much use out of the started version of XE7?  I kinda like to own the software I use, and I really hate to jump through hoops like 30 day trial VMs.  $209 isn't really that bad if it would work.  Seems like it should be the full version assuming you don't use it commercially for anything over $1000 annually. 

Anyhow, thanks for checking that out Crome.  You definitely saved us all many hours fighting through unfamiliar territory.

Thanks for checking.  It looked pretty complete except for the monetary limitations.

If Lazarus could be used with Stealth, that might open up some new possibilities.  For me, the biggest limiter was being able to own the development system.  Lazarus seems to be a pretty enticing option.

I also get errors while doing odd things with profiles (adding new ones mainly) and clients/servers.  Not 100% sure it's the same error but I'm pretty sure it is.  I know it's another integer overflow.

It seems we have an issue sometimes when using IO. prolly your profiles are corrupt and it causes stealth a crash onclose.

I digged into this a few times in source but not found a real solution, i just removed all profile\shard\client datafiles and readded them from scratch (by add through stealth)

I get this error while trying to run oRune.  I also tried a Hello World app using standard Stealth API, same error.  Maybe because there are spaces in the path where I'm running Stealth from? (doubt that's the problem.)

API still not perfect we are on a process of remodeling in order to allow a real handling of API with sockets.

The only methods it finds under the Stealth object are a bunch of GetLayer methods (Script_GetArmsLayer, Script_GetBankLayer, etc.)  which confuses the hell out of me cause if it was able to find those methods, then why can't I access any of the other methods.

This is only for the Stealth object.  I seem to be able to refer to all the other objects and their methods under ScriptDotNet2.

EDIT:  NVM figured it out

oRune was from Orich. Orichs dll was based on 6.4.x wich used Memory Pipes. Maxwells dll is based on Neos dll wich corrected the new Socket Handling. I not used it myself yet but people say it would work. The design of those dlls depending on their respective authors.
