All right...  I'm using everything at my disposal so if someone's borred enough to point me in the right direction to get this fixxed I'd appreciate it.

Vista Ultimate System:

Upon boot up I receive the following error msg.

"Logonui.exe application error" = Error window's Title.

"The instruction at 0x74e18e6f referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read. Click ok to terminate the program"

----------------------
I can currently boot to my other drive, but want to fix this.

-I've tried the startup repair from my Vista install disc which finds no problems.

-Ive tried the sfc/scannow from the Admin CMD prompt & "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations"

-I tried a restore point prior to my last Windows update and the problem still exists..

Online & looking for new ideas now..

THX.

If you've seen it before that means at one time it was a new and interesting way ;)  Anyways, have you tried to do Safe Mode?

Yea.. no luck on that.  It hangs at a black screen with the mouse cursor like usual and gives me the same logonui.exe application error....

Anyway...... FORMAT FTW!  2.5 hours of talking on the phone with some guy in India who I can barely understand & they come to the conclusion that I'm screwed & should just do a clean install...

Woot!   ah well multiple drives with stuff backed up is nice...

Dont you love that? Tech support in India ... Ok I can deal with that
Tech support in India saying hello my name is Bob and pretending he isnt in India thats just too much.
When you format you might consider a solution I implementid a cpl machiens ago.
1) get an external hard drive
2) do a complete clone of your main drive AFTER you update and put you "basic" program load on it icq, uo, TS and so on
3) remove the external hard drive and repack it in its original packing and put it on a shelf

next time this happens just go to bios set your external as disk 0 once you boot from it clone it to main hd and repack it up :)
