PVP Mage template!!!

Who has the Most recent PVP Mage template?
I searched around and I see quite a few are any of them still Viable?

What's the spell rotations?

Right now I have:

120 Mage,Med,Eval,Resist,focus and 100 Myst <---looking to go 120 too?

Thoughts?

spell trigger bombard @ 120 Myst, if u don't have 720 cap would do gm med for it

i like the

120 eval mage parry
100 poison inscript
70 tatics
90 med

use a good cleaver for bleed + infect and a War Cleaver for disarm

sdi max, then curse explo light infect bleed light

What?!?

You don't have a melee skill listed. Was parry supposed to be swords?

Zero resist spells on a mage is terrible imo. Just awful. You get poisoned every single time. We used to see this guild of mages trickle over to my shard from Pacific that would run a similar template. When they got paralyzed or mana-vamped they would always skip off screen and tell us how bad we were. It's a cute big damage temp, but no resist just isn't practical unless you're just looking for a dump. Once they lose their precious trapped box, it's a joke vs mages. Even sleep will wreck people running this temp.

To the original poster:

120 mage
120 eval
120 resist
120 focus
120 mysticism

That's always the basis. It's pricier, but a lot of people use orn of the mag/crystalline ring/night eyes. It's very easy to imbue an 18hpr suit, especially if you're going with a gargoyle (which you obviously should). Rising colossus while you're still flying is just too strong compared to being on foot 24/7 to use it.

When you run the crystalline ring, your -20 mage wep is covered, plus you net another free 20 focus points. This leaves you with 140 extra points to do whatever you want with.

Some combos:
100 weave/40 med
100 scribe/40 med
100 poison/40 med
80 poison/60 necro
100 med/40 weave
100 ninja/40 med (you see quite a bit of faction mages afraid of stat use this)

You can do whatever you want, but you implied you wanted a mystic, so there it is.

That's a big change from what I remember; do you know what pub that came in with?  I just tested under vanilla runuo 2.2 and get the 'you need 70 weapon and tactics skill to perform that attack'.  This is with a test char having 100 tactics, 100 parry, and 100 magery wielding a staff of the magi (mage weapon - 0 skill).  Can someone confirm this on OSI?

Sorry i checked it now on test center isnt working, i use it on a fs, so its a custom mod.

SO after rethink i think a good idea would be

120 mage
120 eval

090 tactic
120 combat
70 med

and in place of mageweapon use a better imbued one =)

Completely forgot about Night Eyes! I'm redoing my suits and trying to base it around Orn/Cryst/Inquis Res. Thanks for the reminder!

I was only gone a few months did something drastic change?

Last i heard mystics were 2nd class to scribes and nox mages.

I would totally avoid melee nox mages--too many disarms, too much dci.

That gets me started in the right direction.

Going to try a few combo's might go the Necro. poison route I like that Template, Went out last night and Scooped up all the arties and Spent the night imbuing a suit and reforging crap, Came out with a pretty sick Suit.  I'll play around with it more and post when im done tweaking it!!

15 if you use mage + another spell based skill
30 if you use just mage


Spell Damage Increase (SDI) is an item property that, surprisingly, increases the damage of most magical attacks that are cast. While this property is capped at 15% for PvP, the cap further increases from 15% to 30% for templates having no more than 30 modified skill points in another main skill like Magery, Necromancy, Mysticism, Ninjitsu, Bushido, Animal Taming, Musicianship, Chivalry and Spellweaving. For PvE there is no cap on spell damage, so pack it on.

Yes and no. It's capped at 30% now if you don't have more than one of the following skills above 30 (modified): Magery, Necromancy, Mysticism, Ninjitsu, Bushido, Animal Taming, Musicianship, Chivalry and Spellweaving. If you have say 120 mage and 30 taming then cap is 15%. This was changed in Publish 71. PvM still has no cap.

However, I don't remember if the 30% cap is before or after inscription bonus.

Right, I remembered that pvm has no cap but last I logged in it was 15% for pvp !!!

Ok ok ok soooooo the 30% cap for pvp ....You would have to have only 30 in each spell casting school???   Like uhh 30 mage med eval?? im confused or having an old age moment hahaha!!!


Doh I read your post again and  I get it :P  so im going to be capped at 15 because i have 120 in mage and myst.
