Title: Check this out
Post by: Kandie on July 04, 2012, 08:21:27 AM
ok my friend was at a Idoc last night when all of a sudden he was pulled by a GM and told he was getting a warning for using Easy UO program, that scripting is illegal, funny thing is he wasn't even using easy uo while at the idoc, but he knows there were others using it....do u think now UO has some kind of detecting program and it might either be bugged or has tagged us when using easy uo and when we are on somehow they know and watch us????  kinda scary......anyone else have this happen????

My thoughts maybe he had been scripting at another login and had been called on on that date and possibly that came back checking on him?? Do not know all the detail of his play his/her play habits and what had happened prior to the gm visit.

He rarely scripts and if he does he's always attended........I know it doesn't sound right but I thought just in case UO can detect us scripting and tag us I wanted to let everyone know so they watch and if this happens to anyone else they plz let all of us know :)

GMs have a few different methods of checking in on a player who has been reported for scripting. (Which is probably what happened here, a player simply reported him in attempts to weed out competition)

They can either contact you via porting to you and revealing themselves for open chat (which they almost NEVER do anymore), they can also use the old style prompt-chat method which opens up a gump that prompts you with the statement that a GM desires to speak to you in which case you have to click it to initiate chat, they can use the newer style (Which is the most common now) method of chat where you can just reply via the left bracket key "[" and lastly they can simply just pull you to Jail in order to speak to you. Pulling you to jail in order to simply speak is something that typically happens more often when multiple people report a person, as opposed to just one person reporting.

Or if they have been secretly viewing you and have collected suffuciant evidence or are still collecting evidence on you they will do this also.
