Title: New to ScriptUO - or am I?
Post by: Arabella on July 23, 2012, 08:28:16 PM

display ok Hello ScripUO
halt

My name is Arabella,

I started playing UO in 1996 as an Alpha tester.  The guy who lived across the street from me was contracted to do some of the programing for UO and created an alpha account for me.

I played on Baja until Napa Valley went live, I moved there and thats where I still play.  I have been involved with easyUO from time to time.  almost all of my scripts have been thrown off the boards for being somehow related to gold farming.

I am not a programer and the only programing language I know is EasyUO.  I do however write scripts and scriptletts every day for my own and friends uses.

I created an account here on ScriptUO once before but found most of the scripts I needed were on EasyUO.  I have come back to this site because EasyUO is not being updated regularly and its rather time consuming to go through and edit every script I want to use for new item types, menu positions etc.

I have played for 11 total years taking time off at various points for different reasons.  I have tried all the new games and have made many friends in the MMO comunity, but honestly I keep coming back to UO because UO has everything you could want in a game - good and bad.

I only quit last time because I swore I was gonna quit UO, scripting in U is so much fun if I hadn't left I couldn't have quit.  Oh wait... guess I can't quit anyways.

Welcome back Arbella!

Make use of the search feature in the upper right corner this time around. I can't think of any scripts off the top of my head that EasyUO has where ScriptUO doesn't have something at least comparable or better...maybe that Kal In Ex SOS finder. Is that a sales pitch?

Sometimes it's just a matter of finding the needle in the haystack. Lots of hidden gems laying around on ScriptUO.

I just don't think many members are aware of all the stuff that's on this site. It's a treasure trove! 8)

welcome back.  Maybe you could share some of scripts? Even the simplist scripts can be used by someone.  Hope to see you active on the boards.

Simple script -

loop:
wait ( #random / 80 ) , s
event macro 18 0
goto loop

your character will bow at random intervals to keep you from loging out.  Can be run by itself or incorporated into other scripts.

I have been using this for years and as far as I can tell from practical use it has never created a conflict while running ANY other script.

Cool I was hitting a golem and it kept trying to log me out even tho I was looping casting Divine Fury...  I quit UO from time to time also every other game will get boring but never uo...  Thanks for the little script! Welcome back!
