Title: New gems
Post by: Hoby on October 08, 2009, 09:14:48 AM
Just upgraded to sa and started mining, is it me or do the new gems look like the regular gems you can buy at a jeweler, same names and look.

They are the same. There is now 2 books to read, then you can dig up both the "regular buyable gems" like from a jewler, and the minable Gems.

Has anyone noticed if mining up the purchasable jewels cuts into the mining jewels drop? I've been wondering if it would take place of those drops instead of adding another.... If that makes sense.

Seems like im still getting the same number of gems since i started mining the new jewels.  i think if anything its cut down on the number of ingots per hour.

Hi,

about the new "GEM" Mining option ...

I still have no idea what this is for .. to be honest so far I think
it is much easier to get those regular gems by killing black ants or Crystal Eles.

Do I miss something with this new gems or the other ones not usable for imbru ?

No, the ones you buy from npc jewelers are usable for imbuing, just expensive.  The more people buy em the higher the price goes.  Mining is another way to get em, although i think it will take a heck of a lot of mining to get a decent amount.  From what i read imbuing takes alot of resources to train.

Aye, you can also get seeds of renewal from growing plants. Apparently any colored plant maybe even normals has a chance to drop them.

Yeas I heard about that.  mining in new lands is te way to go and you will do very well with crystalline blackrock.  I wonder if you get more seeds growing in the new lands vs. old.

Not sure, the people who are getting them aren't posting where they are. I will see if I can't gather data and let ya know ;).

Don't believe there is a book you have to read. Just harvest seeds like normal.

You can only get the crystalline blackrock if you're mining in Ter Mur.  Which is sporty...

I was aware of the one book for Mining Gems. What's the other for? I haven't gotten around to leveling a miner yet as I've been busy working on getting ingreds in the Abyss.

Thanks in advance.

I think the 2nd new Book is the "Book of Basket Weaving"
this is related to a GM tinker .. and will be to craft baskets
and if I am not wrong a few things are needed for the new
plant dyes.
