Title: Mining skill gain question

If you are @ 99.5 mining and wearing the +5 mining gloves, will you still gain skill?

Also, how high does your mining have to be to get ML gems(ecrus and such)?

Yes, you will still get gains, your mining needs to be at 100 to mine up the minable gems

Small detail.  You will gain mining even if you have the mining gloves on your hands, unless you have the skill LOCKED at 99.5
