If I wanted a heavy crossbow with some properties, can you guys tell me what would be required and what levels could be achieved?
Heavy Crossbow
30 SSI
Balanced
Ok that's it to start... what would be required to make that heavy crossbow?
Now lets say I want to add in as much Hit Chance as possible...
*edit - realized that 25% HCI is probably only possible on runic crafted bows... max for this would be 15? I think.
Heavy Crossbow
30 SSI
Balanced
25 HCI (*edit: actually it would probably be 15%)
Ok, what would be required to make that one? What about lowering the HCI some, like below that 90% thingy (22% right?)?
Now with that bow made, can it be 100% Fire or Poison damage? Or is a mix easier, like 50% Fire and 50% Poison?
Heavy Crossbow
30 SSI
Balanced
22? or 25? HCI (*edit: maybe 13 - 15?)
100% Fire
That's 4 properties.... could any damage be added at this point?
That's it I guess. Lemme know what can be done and what it would take. The end bow would be something like...
Heavy Crossbow
25% Hit Chance Increase (*edit - maybe 15%)
Balanced
30% Swing Speed Increase
?? Damage Increase
100% Fire/Poison
Yep, I think that's the one I'd like right there... just tell me how to make it happen :)

Actually... using THIS (http://personal.inet.fi/cool/imagess/Imbu/imbu/imbu.html) imbuing calculator...
Using an Exceptional Heavy Crossbow to start...
30 SSI
- 5 Relic Fragment
- 10 Tourmaline
- 10 Essence of Control
Balanced
- 5 Relic Fragment
- 10 Amber
- 10 Essence of Balance
25% Hit Chance Increase
- Undetermined
50% Damage Increase
- 5 Enchanted Essence
- 10 Citrine
- 10 Crystal Shard
And that totals 490/500. So is that doable with the ingredients?
-
Yes, not only that you can then try to enhance it with ash after...
-
Ok, so just need to figure out whats required for Hit Chance Increase...

I would do swing balance and hit first. Then do whatever damage gives you the best chance to get it without TOO many tries and too many resources. :)

Yep, thats why I put that first post in that order.... If I got to
Balanced
30 SSI
25% HCI
I'd probably quit right there.

4 things at 100 shouldn't be too hard. Still a decent chance to get that. I think 30 swing and balanced are weighted over 100 a bit tho aren't they? I have no clue. I've only skimmed the way it works to get a good idea.

Dont worry about using resources such as residue and essence, not only do I have a good supply, they will be even easier to make when new patch goes live. Only worry about imbues that use relic fragments. Thats it. Heck I imbue and the final imbue for said item is using magical residue with a 2% chance of success lol. But I do it and do it till it holds.
You do not lose the special items on a fial, essences and such, only residue and gems, relic frags and essence.

If you can I'd try to get all the HCI you need on your suit!... Primer tally, Stormgrip (faction), jewels, Hunter's Headdress, etc. I'd personally add hit lightning/fireball and velocity to it.
-
I was wondering why he didnt already have it maxxed. Its only 45% hell you can get 30% alone off of jewels. And remember bud, woodland armor enhanced with heartwood +5% per piece...then imbue....yea baby!

No HCI on my jewelry.
Thats why I really want max HCI on the weapon. It's just a dismounter, so I'm not too concerned about damage, regular or hit spell.

It helps quite a bit though when both spells hit. You get damage from lightning, velocity, the actual hit AND the from falling off your horse. I've taken some guys down half health with just a dismount. Your template and whatnot so do what works for you! Just giving advice where I can :)

Balanced = 150
SSI 30 = 110
HCI 25 = 130
DI 50 = 100
Total of 490
or...lower your DI and add a hit spell.

Will it REALLY help all that much to have a hit spell at 25 or 30? Just go with the 50 damage. :)

I agree. What I would probably do if I were him is lower my hci a little, and DI a lot. I know he likes 4/6 casting. I setup a 4/6 stealth archer on my home shard that runs a balanced heavy with 22 or 23 hci on it, lowest DI, and fc1, with 35ssi.
