Title: Improving ping to servers

If I lived 40 more minutes east I could get fios. :(

For some reason though I'm pinging between 120-140 to the servers and I'm not sure why. I play the closest server to where I live too.

There has got to be something I can do.

Router...done.
Firewall....done.

I've tried fixed and dynamic ips and connection stays the same.

Maybe I'm just SOL?

Also make sure your machine is optimised for net traffic... some nice tools here www.dslreports.com

Post by: manwinc on March 11, 2010, 09:01:48 PM: I'm through a wireless device similar to a laptop and right now at max I have 470kb down 126 kb up, Really hurts... my ping isn't dropping below 300 atm which is really frustrating because there are alot of Blues to be Killing

Post by: jtw1984 on March 12, 2010, 05:13:23 PM: Yeah I checked uotrace and everything seems to be running well. The weird part is the average ping on my end is around 76 ms. However, on the 2d client it says my ping is anywhere from 120-140. Which confuses me, but then against I don't know much about networks and such.

I'll def give some of those tools a try. Thanks.
