Umm...three uses that I can think of:

1 - Deco.  The plus side is, even if you don't lock it down it will never decay.
2 - Suicide.  I do not recommend standing next to your axed pile of 124 blackrock and accidentally hitting your old Armageddon hotkey.  I did that...once...
3 - And the (only) real use: Primeval Liche Champ spawn.  If you are holding blackrock, you can attack wisps through those annoying shields.

3 - is very useful. How long does it last in your pack when killing wisps?

I think I made about 40M from blackrock last time there was an event that used it.  I use Nobama's fill a crate and axe it routine on shards where I don't have a castle. Where I have a castle I wrote a Johnny Appleseed script for it that scatters it in the courtyard.

I'm hoping that they let us craft blackrock soup out of them.  they said that after teh event they will make an alternate way to feed teh dragons.  that would be great.

I have not been mining much on this shard lately, but this is the start of my courtyard blackrock garden with only 280 blackrock...

I almost killed myself casting it with just one piece of blackrock.

It's a pretty cool graphic effect. 8)
