When we had the 7.0.10.3 patch, I took a previous client from a buddy and replaced my client.exe file so that I could work on a script since EUO wasn't updated yet. (thinking it might take longer to update) Now that EUO is updated, I thought I could go ahead and patch my client. Well... UO won't patch now. Can anyone help me out? I have clicked all exe files in my EA Games folder (client picker, UO patch) I'd hate to reinstall UO... UGH!!!
And for next time, what should I do with old clients to be able to use them while EUO isn't updated?

Always back up your client after a patch and keep 2 copies one new one old. Then copy the old client back.
At least that is what i do.

if you use UOA you can set it to always run your backed up client.

Or just not patch at all. Why people close down their clients when they're done playing and then not check for patches before they start up the client is beyond me. :)

I have uo on 5 different computers - so I always have a backup. hehehehehe

Good point. I just want to get into a good routine, however it may be. I want to be able to run the old client, while euo is down, and still be able to patch when neccessary. Right now I can't patch, and wanted to find out the easiest way to accomplish my goal.

you probably have patched, and you are just using an old client. you just don't have the most up to date client. with that we can't help you with.. you'll have to reinstall UO... sorry.

ewwww... thanks for your guys' feedback

Razor. Works like a charm.

I do the same Twinkle McNugget! I keep one client open with UOA attached and a second client open to run a script or two. Wen I hear of a patch or something coming up or tat UO has patched, then I check EUO to make sure it is up to date. If not, I keep playing and load even more clients with EUO.

Was going to say the same thing. Just patch when you want to (or have to).

One of my buddies had his uo messed up by this last patch.. everythign was working fine and now he has to run the entire computer in admin since the last patch that was supposed to fix just that.
I would put in the old client and then run in admin if it still doesnt work. That worked for me in the recent past.

You could make it a routine, that right after you Patch with Easy UO updated to make a copy of the Client. It is always best to leave one client open anyways and open more clients thru Easy UO. I am in agreement, why close your client down unless you really, really have to. Leave the one on that you opened with UOA.
Oh, and that sure was a nice friend to have sent you his client so that you could continue to play UO! Kudos to him!
