Hi everyone,
So I came across this board after reading up on UO. I played for years when UO first came out, and I'm surprised that there is still a big community. I was looking for a good MMORPG to play again, and I really didn't like WoW which seems to be the most popular one.
So I found my way back to UO, and I plan on trying some of the free shards out there. Hope I learn a lot from reading the forums here. Looks like a lot has changed since I used to play....=p
Thanks!

You can learn a lot just from reading some of the stickied intros, then adding to yours...tell us some more about yourself.

Ah some more about myself? Let's see here....So I'm in my thirties and I'm an engineer for one of the major ISPs here in Florida. When I'm not working, I'm spending most of my time raising my 8 year old son. He actually wants to start playing UO too, so we will see....;)
I'm not sure how many techies we have on this site, but we are going through some major changes this year at my job, mainly IPV4 to IPV6 migrations which is going to take a while to complete. This project has been taking up a lot of my time. I'm pretty much on my laptop most of the day (which gives me some time to catch up on UO while i work) :D. Not many people are aware, but we are slowing running out of IPV4 ip space. Most of the major ISPs across the country are converting to IPV6 if they haven't already.
But enough of that boring IP stuff. I like to do some coding on the side as well, which brought me to this site. I've been more focused on the networking side of things of late, but this seems like a good chance to play with some coding again. I'm really looking forward to getting back into the mix...

Welcome... You will find that this site has many "techies" and some scripters that are complete out of this world. The change from IPv4 to IPv6 has been in the works/planning for years. I personnally am not looking for to the headaches it will cause, but that is life and no stride forward ever comes without pain. Bring it on!!!!
Have fun and script away.
