Hello, my name is MrOdd & im a UO addict.. .
The first time I had a taste of Ultima Online was in beta. At the time I knew this girl, well one day I was at her house and got talking to her brother, he ends up telling me about some computer game called Ultima Online. Long story short I have no idea what happend to her or her brother, however im still playing that dang game!!
Back in 1997 I started playing & the shard was Great Lakes. My first character was named Methos, he was a taming-mining-archer!! FEAR THAT TEMPLATE!! It only took about 2 weeks before I turned to the dark side, or perhaps the red side!? The first time that I was pk'd was on a road, I ran for my life as what I thought back then were flying worms attacking me. Which later I found out to be energy bolts, hehe.. .
My fav years of UO were 1997-1999. I had some really great & fun times. Back then I had 4 houses on one account, one of those houses was a small house inside the fenced area in Jhelom farm. Some great pvp memories there. I remember one massive order/chaos fight there. Must of been like 100 people or so, was wicked, bodys all over!!
I sold one of my accounts in 2000 and took a break.. .came back in 2001. Then about 2004 the guild leader of BC (guild I was in at the time) left UO. Guild took a nose dive, after about a year I moved shards following some friends. Now I play on Pac/Sonoma.
You know, I really miss the days where you ran around naked chasing people with a halberd and a pre-casted flame strike!! Muwaha!! Ahh and the bounty board, what fun.
Now everything is about how many mods you can fit on a suit while chugging 80 pots all at once!! Ok, maybe not the 80 pots thing. But thats ok, im still addicted!!
Thanks and sorry for my horrible typing skills.

Welcome MrOdd!
Pre-casting Halberd wielding days are my fondest memories of UO and when PvP was worth a damn.
Glad you found us and I hope you enjoy the site as well as the great community we have here. :)

Welcome, to the site and thank you for the enjoyable intro. See you in the boards. Don't be a lurker!
-
In Internet culture, a lurker is a person who reads discussions on a message board, newsgroup, chatroom, file sharing, social networking site, listening to people in VOIP calls such as Skype and Ventrilo or other interactive system, but rarely or never participates actively. Research indicates that "lurkers make up over 90% of online groups" (Nonnecke & Preece 2000). Lack of trust represents one of the reasons explaining lurking behavior (Ridings, Gefen & Arinze 2006).

Thank you all for the warm responses!!
Its pretty weird, Ive played since the start
and im now just starting to use scripts, haha.. .
I'll try not to be a lurker, and i'll never be a troll!!

Those old days were great. I loved how everyone
back then were on foot because horses cost alot.
(alot due to the uo economy not out of whack)
I also use to love bumrushing houses & looting!!
No lock downs then!! Ahh.. .the good old risk days.
-
Ahhh yes risk. alas UO does not use the risk factor any more. To many trammies took over and reduced this to nothing.

Yep!! They thinnnned it out by making to much land
then put in powerhour & made it to easy to gain skill.
Then killed the economy by making it really easy to
farm by taking away the risk. Owell.. .im still playing.
lol

Welcome and Good Luck!

Welcome. I loved it when horses would kick your ass off of them if you didn't feed and care for them..THAT was realism.

Also being able to do area spells in town and
you could gate in monsters from dungeons.. .
OHH!! Gating monsters inside your house and
trapping them with crates to train on them!!
