Hello, everyone! My name is Joe, I've been playing UO off and on for about 13 years. My uncle introduced me to the game in 1997, and since then all I ever wanted was to play UO, I'd even lumberjack and mine for him while he was at work. I'd play on servers he didn't have characters on so I wouldn't lose his stuff on his shard. I had so much fun even if it was sheering sheep for weaving bolts of cloth, but it was never the same as having my own account.
One night, while my uncle was going through some chests on UO, me behind him staring over his shoulder, a log cabin fell in front of my uncle's tower on Baja and he opened a new account and threw up a house, and gave me my first UO account for Christmas, I've been hooked ever since.. Try to quit, or cut back on playing and I come back every single time wishing I had never left. From the time I hit those pavers in Skara Brae, I've played almost every template I can think of, PvP and PvM minded.
I'm 26 now I have 3 accounts to myself, and my uncle, my brother and my fiance' (36/28/38) all still play occasionally. It's fun to play with people I know in real life, but there are people I've met in the game that have literally watched me grow up, helped me through hard times, and generally were there for me more than most members of my real family. Granted, most of them are gone from Ultima Online now, but it's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all, right?
I look forward to sharing and meeting the members of the SUO community!

My most favorite times in UO were playing with the people I worked with IRL. We'd adventure at night and laugh about during the day at work. It was so much fun!

I've had a hard time getting people I know into the game, especially in the earlier years. "You lose everything when you die? No, thanks!" I've worked with people who have played UO in the past, but they seemed like they were just passing through, I've never met any real hardcore players other than my uncle and younger brother.

Do you still play Baja primarily? I still have a house there on my grandfathered account and haven't visited there in ages! In fact, my archer probably still is equipped with his Bow of Vanquishing. lol

Baja rocks! My whole family played baja for years... Me my uncle and my nana and my aunt still play sometimes... We are about to get those transfer shields on almost all of our accounts in the next 3 months... Playing with people you know in real life is awesome and if its family thats even better... I used to live and play with one of my uncles who died a few yrs ago and the rest of the family still use his chars n his houses still stand it makes me miss him a ton.. His name in game was GaWd Rial... Or GaWd Riel or GaWds Assassin... GaWd Enyo...

I knew the Original GaWd Enyo (Your uncle) from MANY years back on Baja, infact I helped him score his first or second keep, above a shrine east Vesper if I remember correctly. That was back in my Slt/Malagents (S+M) and NME faction days though.
