Thanks Trail!  My Sgt. told me you're not a real cop until you've been divorced once, so hopefully I never become a real officer.  :P

That's what I'm hoping for at least.  The community here seems... more open to people learning than certain other forums :)

Why hello there :)

I'm finally returning to UO -- as we all know the icy talons of the game never let go of a true lover of it.  I played on Great Lakes from 98-2002, back when I was in middle and high school.  Now I'm 27.  It's strange how fond memories of a silly game can keep creeping into your mind, making you reminisce about how much fun you once had.

Well, I have a different focus playing now.  Being "grown up" and all, with a career as a police officer and a fiance whom I am marrying in two months, I can't justify playing like I used to.  My father recently got me interested in a microcontroller system called an Arduino.  I have no experience in programming or electronics, but I figured I would give it a try.  Funny how things coincide, and I find a programming system of scripts for Ultima Online - the game I'm starting to play!

Understanding the flow of programming is my goal, and being able to write my own scripts is my end goal.  I feel like this will not only give me a benefit in Ultima Online, but in utilizing the Arduino to its full potential.  Playing a game AND learning.  That's how I'll justify it to my fiance ;)

I'm ready to follow the tutorials and use the hell out of the search button.  I'm sure you'll be hearing more from me when I get a little further in my learning.
