Hear ye hear ye!
here is my introduction and opinion of UO.
I cant even begin to describe the deep traditions and history of Ultima Online. Some of my fondest memories with my brothers were trouble we would get in on UO, or inside jokes referencing UO.
I explain my addiction to UO as such. Well you see, I am a chef. What I believe truly makes a delicious dish and makes people love your food is doing things the right way. Because just as in the movie Ratatouille, near the end, when the food critic tries the ratatouille and it warps his memories back to his childhood, that is what makes not only a good tasting dish but a memorable one. Anyone can make food taste good, but can you make it memorable? People don't want all this new molecular gastronomy that most "chefs" are not even doing right in the first place. People want emotion out of food.
That being said, when I play UO it takes me back to '97 when I was young and life was simple. Now as an "adult" (I put that lightly) I play UO and go spend hours taming or mining and I enjoy it. Forget the Modern Warfare or WoW. Those games are so scripted and seems like you have no freedom. You essentially are going down same paths everyone goes down. You can swing a sword and gain levels and learn magic spells? by swinging a sword?? Doesn't make sense. In UO you can be who you want and what you want. The self personalization aspect of this game is unprecedented, from housing to your clothes to your skill set. Complete gaming freedom. That is what brings me back every time, that is what what makes this game superior!
Look forward to learning more about Script UO and what it has to offer. Hope to be a useful member of the SUO society.

P.S. I hate the question when I tell people I am a Chef, "Have you seen that movie Ratatouille??"
