BVF = Amber
RVF = Citrine
TKR = Magical Residue

The plants have to be cross pollinated for the chance to drop a black or white seed. It is a 1-2% chance that they will do so.   The white ones show up white on the harvest gump. The ones that produce th back no longer show up black they are an odd orangish color.

Do any other "Normal" bods cut up an exceptional item instead of trying to combine it?

I know you are identifying a tailor bod, but the logic of recycling something exceptional while filling a normal quality BOD would be the same logic for blacksmithing. For a blacksmith, most weapons would be crafted exceptional.
