An Odd Return...

I have made a return to UO, I play on the official shards...it feels good to be back. I used to run easyuo a bit for certain tasks, never unattented however. I have gotten lost and confused with this return, so many new skills and places to be that I have some work to do with my account. I still have uoassist, but when I went to get easyuo it wold not let me register...thats how I found this place. A quick google search and I end up here, I am still trying to figure out what this all is and hope that it will help me get things done.

I have been using the same account off and on for years and its my pride and joy, everytime I quit I liquidate and come back to naked toons and a pile of gold. So far so good for me, I am hoping to learn more about what scriptuo is and how it will help me. Thanks.

Well I got an account register with easyuo, however it says that easyuo itself is not up to date so I cant use it. Also...whats this openeuo thing and do they even update easyuo? What should I be using?

Open is another program that Cheffe began but has not worked on for about two years.  It has a lot of capabilities already and there are a bunch of users.

Basically, you have to wait until they update. they will but slowly.  The best thing to do is open uo through the client in the up files and use an old uo by not patching until easy uo is updated.  Too late this time but next time will work.  Some folks make copies of all their clients so they can always revert and still macro.

Very informative, thanks. I will hold out until easyuo if updated I guess and if you dont mind me asking how can I make a client backup for next time there is a patch?

Most freeshards work with older clients, so you can look for a freeshard to play around on and practice your EasyUO skills.  I was doing that today on Alexandria.

I have never been a fan of free to plays, but my friend plays there and likes it as well. Maybe to save some cash I could just do that...if it comes down to it.

I just suggested that for the time being.  I haven't had much luck with freeshards myself.  Lexia is the only one that managed to hang around.  I also played metropolis and In Por Yelm, but both of those went away and came back a few times.  If you're going to do anything on the interwebz, you need it to be consistent.
