Now is a great time to get into it because once it goes Free To Play, these Storm Legion game codes won't exist anymore. They unlock features that won't be available to the normal FTP crowd. I just paid $19.00 for this until dxrom reminded me I could get it for free just for playing (doh).

Ok, so I finally got back online last night and spent some time wandering around Great Lakes. It's pretty dead there, but what struck me was the prices of things. I have about a million gold there and found that wouldn't buy me a rubber ducky! My goodness how the inflation has gone rampant!
Heck, even 100m doesn't really help in UO anymore. I do feel sorry for the noob that just discovers UO.

Off Topic / Anyone hate Outlook (new Hotmail) like I do?

What's up with Microsoft these days? I've used Hotmail for years and have felt it to be a pretty good free mail service. Their transition to the Outlook paradigm without a backward compatibility/skin (*cough* Windows 8 *cough*) has me closing my hotmail account for good. I'm already moved over to hushmail and will probably never use Hotmail again.

Presently I have my new .45 ACP(Taurus 24/7), a .380 auto (Bryco) and my target .22LR(S/W). I have a couple rifles, but not presently at my address.
I've been stockpiling my .45 ACP ammo since that's what zombies hate the most.
I plan on purchasing a 9mm pretty soon. Probably will get a higher caliber semi-automatic rifle sometime soon.

Programming / Operating Systems / Has anyone upgraded to Windows 8 yet?

I tried out the free trial and just hated it. It was way too much of a radical change that seemed to be more clunky. Kinda reminded me of the decision of the Linux release of Gnome 3.
So anyone actually using this on their main desktop/laptop instead of a tablet?
For me, if they don't officially release a Win7 compatibility mode, I simply will ride the Win7 horse until it drops dead.
What the heck is going on with these companies that seem to know better how we should use our computers? It's a little bit too big brother for me.
At least with Linux, I could fall back on XFCE. Wow, Windows 8 sucks!

So I've been converting my entire DVD collection over to my windows media PC. There are many disk that have their various chapters spread out across many files, so I wanted to be able to compress selected .VOB files into one contiguous one. There are a couple utilities that do this, but they suck pretty bad.
So I decided to write one myself. If you guys think you have the need, please give this a whirl. It works great for me.

General UO Chat / UOP to MUL converter - The De-convolver

I whipped up a quick .NET utility to convert a fully patched .UOP set back to .MUL. This effectively fixes EUO and its dependency on these files for tileset-based scripts used for lumberjacking and mining.
You may notice that your version might not auto-detect the path to your UO installation. If this happens to you, please open up "regedit.exe" on your computer and locate your registry key for your installation. The three I have currently are:
LocalMachine/SOFTWARE/EA GAMES/Ultima Online Samurai Empire-Folder
LocalMachine/SOFTWARE/Origin Worlds Online/Ultima Online/1.0-InstCDPath
LocalMachine/SOFTWARE/Electronic Arts/EA Games/Ultima Online Classic - InstallDir
If you tell me what your key is with the above format, I'll be sure to add it to the next version of the converter.
Anyhow, hope this helps people out. The conversion was stupid-simple. Cheffe should have no problem making the change in EUO so we don't have to created unpatched files.
Please be sure to close UO and EUO before you run this or else this program will crash.
