Gold Farming / Re: TrailMyx's Full Auto Fisherman
« on: August 02, 2013, 03:01:50 PM »
Heh, well it works OK I suppose.  But since I wrote it back in 2005, it's pretty gnarley..

Gnarley my ass, this script is worth it's weight in gold... It purely rocks... I trained 2 Fishermen with it a few months back, and it trains as good as it gets!

Is there anything peculiar with using it to train Fishing on Siege?

Misc. Scripts / Re: Move EVERYTHING from one container to another
« on: December 12, 2012, 08:19:25 PM »
Thanks for the Submission. This type of script can come in real handy when crafting.

Thx Ultima.... Yea, exactly... For those containers that you've already coded ID's into a dozen misc. scripts (and don't want to change them all for sure), this let's you empty them quickly into another container... You know, when you realize that you just can't unlock the chest and take it.... I've just found LOTS of times when I need to move EVERYTHING in one box to another (for various reasons) - so I finally just said "This is crazy... Stop being so lazy and just write a nice little script to do it".... so I did..."

Thx for seeing the use...

....... For future functionality, perhaps you might consider an option to remove everything your character is wearing and place it on a mannequin...

You are aware that that's a single/click option on the Mannequin already, right?

Misc. Scripts / Move EVERYTHING from one container to another
« on: December 11, 2012, 03:08:54 PM »
Hi all,

I've used EUO scripts and a few SUO ones for many years now, and must say that I've learned so much about scripting both here and at EasyUO.com.  I am also the first to admit that scripting doesn't come "easy" for me, but I do keep trying to get better at it.  So here's my first contribution here... (It's also on EUO, but wanted to share it here too).

There are times when you want to quickly and easily move EVERYTHING from one place to another, and I couldn't find a script here for that specific purpose - so I made one. There have been times when I wanted to do something like save a char's backpack into a container so I don't lose track of what he/she has with certain skill combinations. Or when I just want to move a bunch of stuff from one container to another. This little script will do just that - give it a try.....
P.S. I use the name Grindy on EUO, which explains the name.

** EDIT **
V1.1 fixes cosmetic issue, enhances button operation... Thx to EN for getting me off my lazy butt and make it look better with slightly improved functionally.

Crafting / Re: Guadah's Alchimests Assistant

Just grab'd this script, and it's not recognizing the Endless Water Pitcher that's in my resource box. I check'd and the item type for it is VBM, just like regular water pitchers.  All references to water in the script are already set to VBM, so not sure what's wrong.  I'll look thru it and see if I can figure it out...

Very nice!  Recently I've been doing a lot of MIB's and have accumulated a lot of Magery scrolls.  I'm using just the "FILL" option in MSA's script to fill empty Slayer Spellbooks that I made with my Scribe. It works perfectly!

Oh, btw... You don't have to have seperate chests for various levels of spell scrolls... I have ALL Mage/Necro scrolls in a single container, and it works fine like that to fill empty or partially empty spellbooks. The script will ask you to target the various chests that scrolls are in, but just keep giving it the same container and it works fine...

Scripting Chat / Re: Problem with gargoyle thrower and bushido raising?
« on: November 09, 2012, 11:35:39 AM »
I have been a longtime user of Guadah's Multi-Skill Trainer and used bushido on humans and elfs this past week but for life of me gargoyles i get you do not have this spell. I have no patched so that isnt the issue, i went logged in a human and elf and made sure that it worked and was flawless. Suggestions? Possible race issues?

By now you've probably figured it out... But I'm guessin you don't have the book of Bushido on you...

Character skill advancement / Re: Freddy's Poison Express
« on: September 28, 2012, 05:37:11 PM »
Very nice script, Freddy.... Overall a 9+ for sure.  Now, there's one thing you might want to add, and that's the use of Lesser Poison to gain from 29 to around 40.  I'm training Poisoning on a char (OSI shard) and after about 1300 attempts still had not gained a single  .1   .  According to the UOGuide, Lesser Poison potions should be used from 30 to 40 and definitely verified by ME !

Studied your script and made one simple change that allowed my char to go from 29 to beyond 40 quite quickly:  The line in your script:
Quote
set %current regular
can quickly be changed to Lesser and it will then target the Lesser potions (necessary from 29 to 40)...

Oh, and one more very minor thing:  The script does show the starting skill correctly, but does not update as you gain...

But thx for an otherwise very nice script !!!

Cheers  ;D

Excellent advice.... Gonna try and modify Guadah's Multiskill Trainer to include Throwing... Wish me luck, I'll need it... ;)

By far the easiest way to train a weapon skill is to use spellweaving to Dryad Allure an artic ogre lord, then use your 100% poison weapon. I train all my wep skills like this and it's fast as can be. Just start with 50 skill and use jewels to get you to 65-ish (depending on the ogre). No dmg to your weapon or having to worry about healing. Can also be done with just one account. And getting the 50-ish spellweaving required to cast the spell is easy too!

This sounds really interesting.... Now, are there any Throwing training scripts around?

New member introductions / Hi folks, Grandewd's the name...
« on: March 07, 2010, 10:33:29 PM »
That's right, Grandewd... A few years ago, my daughter asked me what I wanted my (at that point unborn, but on the way) grandchild to call me.  Since I hadn't thought about it, I said something like... uh, grandad... ?  Well, if you knew my daughter you'd know that that was WAY too normal, so we set about deciding on something different.  And she came up with Grandewd, since I'm of the age where the "dude" term was coined, back in the 60's... So that's what my grandkids (2 of em now) call me... Kinda catchy, eh?

Anyway... I AM OLD, but - I do love my UO and just can't seem to quit.  Started playing back in '98 while I was working for a company called Micro Center in Cleveland, Ohio.  I was senior tech support for them and one of my friends, the service manager, had been playing UO since it's inception and he was addicted.  Every freekin lunch hour he and the senior technician and I would go across the street to Wendy's and he'd start in on how much fun it was... until finally one day I looked at my friend Dave and said "Ah sh*t, we might as well try it so Jim will shut up".

Well, that was the spring of '98 and I've been addicted ever since.  Of course back then, things UO were WAY different.  All felucia ruleset, no Trammel, no Doom, no Ish, no Tokono, none of that.  Just us and the pk's that loved to ride up and place a few well-directed arrows and kal vas whatevers on our poor, underarmored selves.  But it was fun, and it still is.

Probably the funniest thing that's happened to me ingame was not long after starting.  We knew that if we were to survive, we needed to be able to withstand the lightning bolts and flamestrikes and get our magic resist up.  To do that, we would walk thru fire fields.  Well, one day - while Jim and Dave were working up their swords skills on each other, I was walkin thru one of the fields and wasn't paying any attention to my health... You know what's next... Greyscale... WTF... Oops... Hell, Dave and Jim and I played together for about 2 more years every night and I don't think a single night went by that one of them didn't cast a fire field and just start crackin-up. (I did get even on many occasions tho... forgetting to heal them from time to time and then fire fielding them and apologizing for getting my icons confused... hehehehe)

Well, that's about 12 years ago now and Jim and Dave have long gone.  Jim to a divorce (probably caused by UO) and Dave off to freekin EQ... But here I am, still lovin UO and all the changes that have taken place.  I will say that, if it weren't for Stratics for information and EasyUO for scripts that I'd have been gone long ago.  It's the community outside UO that keeps many of us going.

And it was in an EasyUO PM that I found this site, and I think I'm glad I did.  I'm NOT a great scripter, but I do try hard and I agree with another member's introduction here that EasyUO isn't what it used to be.  There's still a good following, but not like it used to be. Most of the scripts are old and many of the really good scripters have moved on to other things. But then again, some are coming back and some have come here.

As long as UO is around, I'll probably continue to play to some degree... That is, as long as I can script.  There's no way I'm gonna get carpel tunnel playing UO if they ever manage to stop scripting or seriously crack down on it.  I think that if they did, they'd lose most of their best players and all their accounts... (I have 4 that I've kept alive, good grief, that's a lot of cash)..

Anyway, that's who I am....   Howdy folks :)
