Hello JaF
First let me say a big thank you for an excellent script!

I am not sure if you are aware but with the start of Clean up Brittania the devs turned off the option to use trash barrel indefinitely - one must wait 3 minutes till items decay at which moment clean up points are awarded (even if trashcan is secure).  I was wondering if you would be kind enough to repost and older version of the script which waits for trash barrel to time out (seems like ver 3.2 would still have it?).  Hope this change is only in effect for cleanup and is not a permanent:)

Thanks again

Fleur

Actually, it was probably out of line for me to say that.  post removed, apologies.

 :-X

??? Was it a response to my last comment that had to be removed later on? I didn't have a chance to read it. I guess, if it was addressed to me, then I should be happy that I haven't seen it   ::)

It appeared as though sometimes the 'luck' kicked in but I could be wrong...

Ultima, I don't know if you read this article about luck in the game
http://www.uoguide.com/Luck, but it explains very well how it works.

Let's say at the time a dread horn died, your luck suit was 2000. It is 68.2% that a loot will be increased. So if the game generates a random number at the time of the death from 0 to 99 (according to the article), then any number below 68 will mean that your loot will be increased, but any random number above 68 will mean that your loot won't be affected.

Quote:
If (Luck percentage (%) chance value > RNG value)
    Increase loot
Else
    Do not increase loot

Unless you have 3981 luck, which gives you 99,9% chance, then it is difficult to say if luck mattered or didn't without a thorough experiment.

Luck does work to an extent. It's not functioning 100% properly though.... Don't believe me, wear a 2k+ luck suit to a peerless. Check loot with and without suit.

So, what is that threshold where you think luck stops working\doesn't matter?

When we came back to UO, we used to kill Miasma a lot. In the begging, I was not wearing any luck and often I caused the most damage (yes, there were 2 of us killing poor Miasma  :D). Then I got a suit with 1140 luck. We saw a big difference in quality of items right away.

I cannot make such an experiment on peerless yet because you really have to kill a lot with a) average luck suit b) no luck suit c) 2K + luck, making sure you are the one causing the most damage (I cannot solo any of them - don't throw rotten tomatoes at me  ;)). You have to put loot in separate bags, write down which was collected with max luck/average luck/without any and when you have at least 15 bags =5 of a, b and c, then you can compare all the loot and decide if and how luck works in this game.

How about all these people nominated in this thread as "the luckiest guy ever"? Do they wear a luck suite and if they do, what their total luck is?

As I recall, one of the last things Leurocian confirmed before he left was that Luck is broken.

Ironic, considering his artifact...

 :)

Didn't he leave almost a year ago? Someone might have fixed it... Is it possible?

Welcome to the site!  There's lots of peeps from Europe that frequent this site.

I've visited Europe several times, but only to Germany.  :)

Danke schon then or just thank you!
We also visited a part of Germany on a river cruise (Rudesheim, Coblenz, Cologne). We went from Basel to Amsterdam and loved the romantic Rhine. It was so beautiful, lots of medieval castles and history. The only world in German we learned from that trip was "thank you"  ;D

I actually like that you make everybody go through an introduction before their status is lifted - it gives you a chance to find out a little bit about each other. Many people, including me, don't usually go to "new member" forums, but you guys, kind of forced me to and I'm glad you did... Can I try that Vesper Museum scrip now so I can get my luck hat? lol

Hello Everyone  :),

Thank you for having and supporting this website! We reinstated our old UO accounts 2 months ago and having a blast. The game changed drastically, it became even more entertaining and challenging.

My account is only 25 months old, but my hubby is approaching 7 years. Yes, he didn't let me stop paying for his precious UO even when we were not playing :) Our home shard is Chessy and my char is... Fleur (necro/mage)

Oh, how about that volcanic activity in Iceland, which affects almost all Europe  :o? We have tickets to AMS on 24th, but it looks like we may stay home and play UO...
