Believe me, I am greatful for SM's contributions that is for damn sure! In fact, so greatful that I've decided not to let that Daisho donator fall to the wayside because I think it's beautiful, just needs some TLC and it will be more stable and one to keep for the "Dangerous" script section hehe. "Greatful" is an action word where I come from! :p

Once I'm ready to jump back in to learning mode I'll be putting out the next version of the Miner and working on a cleaner version of SM's Daisho script.

The way things are going with 1.81 I might have to get moving this weekend, I'm starting to feel inspired. If the weather goes my way I won't be able to seal the decks so I'll have one less responsibility to weasel out of LOL!

Just printed the Daisho donator and am giddy as a schoolgirl as I gaze upon a properly color-coded script printout!

Boy, that's a lot of exclamation points....

Off Topic / Re: Web development help (I want to learn a little more)
« on: June 19, 2008, 03:42:38 AM »
OMG, if you are indeed interested in Java programming you should check out http://www.javaranch.com.

What I know about the topic could barely fill a thimble compared to someone like TM who does this for a living but what you chose to learn first is really directed by what it is you want to do. Most of the web-based business applications that come into the company I work for are .NET with integrated Java and VBScript. If you are looking to eventually program for a business app dev shop that might be a good place to start. On the other hand, PHP seems to be the WWW choice if you are more interested in maintaining dynamic web environments. Straight out desktop application programming might send you down the C++ or C# route. VBScript is really used mostly for network administration and/or web programming.

So really, where do you want to go today? <---- hehe, I had to say it...

As I mentioned above, the number 63 depends on the wrestling skill of the golem.

Glad to see your problem is solved!

See above. You need to have higher weapon skill. Put on some jewelry.

Unfortunately they nerfed the Golem a number of patches ago to where they will take a very small amount of Poison damage now. For most 100% poison weps it equates to only 1-3 points of damage per hit however this now causes the durability of the weapon to go down as well as will eventually kill the golem. There are still "pre-patch" golems out there where these weapons still do zero damage.

There are tricks to keep the golem healed, everything from using Gift of Renewal on the golem to using tinkering repair deeds and walking to the tinker shop every little while. I typically either set my tinker next to the golem with a loop repairing it every now and then or I soulstone tinkering over to the char training so that it can repair without outside help or a tinker shop.

Of course wrestling can be trained without damaging a golem by wielding a fishing pole; this is a bug though and will likely be fixed eventually. Hmm, I should post this in the WinUO Bug forum in case some people don't know about it.
