Hello everyone!

First of all, I would like to thank all the contributors from the site, you have made our UO lives a lot easier! thank you!

My name is Novake, I have started my UO since 1999, and played on and off for 10 years!  I guess UO is like my first love, that's why i keep returning!

I mainly play on Pacific and Formosa, of course, everyone now shopping at Atlantics, so I stop by there now and then.

The recent endless journey brought back a lots of old friends, we have played together for years. it is great to see UO up and running again. Still remember the old days when we are fighting at the Brit passage for orcs, exploring T2As (back then, able to cast EV was like a superman!) ... the good old days!

Now, I am returning for good, redecorating houses and hunting with friends! if you stop by Pac or Formosa, give me a hola!

I am beginner scripter, trying to learn to make some myself, a lots of things to learn!

Thank you in advance and hope everyone enjoy their UO days!

Nova

Hello All, my name is Ted and I have been playing Ultima Online off and on since 2000. I've recently came back the game after an 8 year hiatus. I went and played WoW for a good time, but for some reason I always return to Ultima Online. I've never been big into the hunting PVM side of the game. I've always enjoyed PVPing and building characters and testing theories. I was recommended by a friend to join this community because he said that this is much better than what I used to do back in the days.

Thanks,

Ted

Hi jL here, I been a gamer most of my life. All started when I got a NES one holiday season. Ever since then I was hooked, from consoles when I was younger, I grew to PC gaming in the mid to late 90s. First online and computer game I can remember playing is Subspace. I remember thinking how awesome it was playing a game against people all over the world at the same time. From there I was introduced into the world of RTS games starting with C&C Red Alert then to StarCraft. For the rest of the 90s I been immersed in RTS games, then came the 2000s. During that time, I was in high school where my gaming experience really expanded. I played RTS games, FPS games like Half-Life, and RPG games with Diablo & Diablo 2, just to name a few. It was shortly after UO: Renaissance came out when I overheard some class mates in my computer science class talking about Ultima Online. Despite the gaming having a subscription and the graphics even at that time already seemed a little out dated, I gave UO a shot and quickly fell in love.

I joined my classmateís shard and started my first character on Chesapeake, which was a basic swordsman warrior. As a journeyman warrior I remember spending almost all of my time at the north Brit grave yard killing skeletons trying to skill up. Soon after I joined my first guild, and thatís when I first really saw how vast the UO world was. I was ported to their guild hall and was amazed by the two-story stone house I saw, how everything inside was either created to looted and placed inside. After that, owning my own house became the first of many in game goals i had.

Once I wasnít a journeyman anymore, my guildmates took me to shame and I remember thatís where I would spend most of my time back then killing earth elementals and when I felt adventurous I would take the portal to level 2. I ended up making a second character shortly afterwards, a blacksmith after having my items stolen trying to get them repaired. With the income of a tailor/blacksmith I was able to save enough to finally buy my own house, a small stone tower in the middle of the swamp. Wasnít the best location but it was my own and it felt really good. I ended up making a Tamer/Bard Mage after seeing a guild mate able to solo Blood Elementals and Elder Gazers and all these mobs that I couldnít as a warrior. Training my tamer mage took a long time to do but once I was able to buy my first dragon farming was much easier.

I ended up quitting UO when World of Warcraft came out. At the time I didnít think I would ever come back to UO and just let my tower fall with everything in it and to this day still regret. After playing WoW for a while I was drawn back to UO because of the sandbox nature. I reactivated my account just to be reminded that I have almost nothing since I let my house fell with everything inside it. When I came back everyone I knew moved on to other games and I lost contact with them all since I lost my icq account, but It didnít stop me from enjoying the game myself. I ended up getting enough to place another small tower, and over the years found better and bigger locations and now have a stone keep. I still have my account active even though most of the time Iím inactive. Mainly so I donít lose my house again, but throughout the years I would always come back to play a little even if it was just to keep an eye out on my house, train taming which I eventually did get to 120, or kill some blood elementals.

With the current expansion in WoW I totally lost interest in the game again, didnít even get to max level. So, I like to come back and try different aspects of UO I never explored like making a treasure hunter, a thief and I like to also changed up my warrior templet finally so he can actually start killing higher level mobs lol.  Throughout the years the game has changed so much and I havenít been keeping up with the changes so I donít know what is good or not. Whatís a good warrior templet that can hold its own? Is there a site which will go over the details of the changes to game? Also, what is the current map program people use on the official serverís? I used to use UOAM but couldnít get the latest download to work. Thanks for looking, and looking forward to joining your community, reading template threads and learning about scripts.
