Casting Summons on boats

According to everything I have read, You should be able to cast summons on an orc pirate ship to damage it like you would with a cannon.

So I take my thrower out to kill pirates. I kill all the orcs but I am not even denting the pirate. So I bring in a caster and cast all sorts of summons on the ship. I usually get the message the ship resists your spell. I have 120 eval! Any idea what i am doing wrong?

Once the ship is scuttled and someone boards , you should be able to cast.

mmm. thats not a bad idea.  May actually pirate hunt if i get something that works.. just cant see myself soloing with having to fire all the cannons manually

It would be so nice to have a Cannon loading Script.  Firing could be totally manual, but the loading part is monotonous.  If you stood at the middle cannon and had a script that would load all three cannons, even if it had to pathfid to find all 3 would be "totally awesome" (surfer talk dude)...!

Depending on where u stand on the boat u can reach 4 cannons at time u could do scirpt to load them and have it set on hot keys maybe for each side
