RebirthUO / Re: What do you look for in a freeshard?

I did go ahead and vote from the topics that were there.

But I think another that should be considered is the ability to just jump in and play.  Before I had any idea that Rebirth was even there, I searched through probably 10 different shards until I was able to quite simply hop in and play.  For some of us that have played for as many years as I have, the idea of grinding skills is really a turn off.  Not that it is a complete deterrent, just something to consider.   I certainly don't think you should just have everything handed to you, I just think that the 'beginning game' shouldn't be quite so monotonous.

Just my 16 pennies.. :)

(And yes, you need imbuing).. :P

Well my whole take on imbuing is that people need end-game tasks to try and tweak their characters to the ideal levels.  Imbuing is a really good to keep veteran players busy doing character enhancement for end-game content.  Farming randomly for that ideal piece just really doesn't cut if from the perspective of the expert player that needs some kind of control over their engame play.

I could not agree more, Sir TM!  Maybe I'm just a sucker for having a certain amount of control, but I like that aspect of the game. Having to farm whatever for days so that I can get the things needed to make what I want is highly fulfilling for someone like me that enjoys crafting more than just about anything else in the game.

We all have our different styles of play. That just so happens to be mine.

So please, keep up the bitching and whining!!  I'll torture Tidus and Crome all the same. :D

Welcome to SUO Bill.!

I've been tinkering with Rebirth a bit too, really do like it just haven't had the time to dedicate to it as I'd like.

http://this script looks like it has a lot of potential but I guess I'm not getting the setup part right. I tried to put the password in the account name to see if it was making it but it never changed the name and then when it does put it in the password it puts 3 or 4 letters.

Hey Cybercasper,

Just wanted to be sure that you are removing the ;'s from the beginning of the lines in the Add Accounts section. You probably are, but you have no idea how many times I've forgotten to remove those when I build a script and can't figure out for the life of me why something that was working, doesn't anymore.

It is a really great show.  One of the few that I make sure to catch every week.  They had an extremely good concept putting it together.

Works great up until about an hour to three of running then causes client crash....is there anything I can do to make it stop doing this? I have not changed anything within the script.

Any info on where or when it seems to crash?  I know on the server I'm playing right now, I had to alter the drag/drop timing a touch to make it run a little more smooth.

But it's been running for about 4 days straight for me here now with no problems.

UOSteam / Re: UOS Randomly losing data.
« on: November 20, 2015, 08:08:47 AM »
I've run every version, and I haven't had too too many issues with losing stuff. The only issues I've had in regards to that is when I've crashed UOSteam. It doesn't appear to do profile saving on crash cleanup, so I'll lose whatever information I've changed. The best way to guard against what you're saying is to have adequate checks in your scripts to make sure, if you don't want the information (if not listexists), then it should remake the list with the information it needs. Considering this check is not expensive, it should be in the beginning of every one of your scripts when listed data is required.

Yeah, I've noticed that if the client I'm working in crashes it loses everything whether or not I've used the save button.  Sure sucks but it's something I can live with until I'm able to get these things figured out in stealth.

UOsteam saves the loot information globally.  Meaning if you have two clients open it will not save.

Pretty sure now that this is exactly what was happening to me.  It appears to me that whichever client you close last is the one that actually gets written to the assistant file.  Been messing around the past couple days now making sure that the client I'm working in is the one that gets shut down last has seemed to keep everything intact.  Keeping my fingers crossed that this continues to work! :D

Thank you Vlek, OxAO, and of course you Gim!

An oldie but a goody here:

You might give that a read through (I'm guessing it still works since the last time I used it).   Depending on how difficult it is to get out of wherever you're hunting, you could alternatively just use a series of simple move or pathfind commands. Not as proficient but would get the job done depending on your situation.

assuming you are running it as administrator under 7, 8 or 10
how many clients are you running?
are you using EUO or stealth?

Hi Gimlet, hope you've been well Sir.

Rolled back to Win8 a couple days ago, running as admin and the client normally.  Have been using between 2-4 clients simultaneously 95% of the time.  I just peeled off the in-box screen protector for stealth today, so I've only been using EUO. For mining, LJ, conc/bandage macro type things. (Oh, and that super spiffy "Miffy's Item Finder"!)  Even went so far as to create different profiles for every character.  Sometimes the whole loot list just disappears and my assistant.xml file reverts to blank as does the backup. Or what it's doing right at this minute is flat out not looting at all even though the list is showing and the container is correct.  Open corpses has been turned off and on, as has been the looter many times.

I'm beyond scratching my head with this.  It works amazing, then poof.

Hello all,

I've been having some issues with steam basically forgetting my loot list, certain macros, and completely stopping to loot.  Just wondering if anyone else has had these issues with the program before? It's really bizarre that it just happens for what seems like no reason at all.

I've tried 1.4.1 and 1.5 as well as various clients ranging from 7.0.45.65 all the way up to the current patch.  Can't think of anything else I can try to fix the issue.

Appreciate any info if you have it!

Hey Neo, I've been using your lumberjack script for the last couple days and it works like a charm so figured I'd check out your mining script. I seem to be having an issue that someone else had, and that is I can get the script all set up, I can recall to my first location, then it just stands there "scanning tiles".

I have used your uop2mul_2.0 twice to update the mul files but it does not seem to help. Was wondering if you had any other ideas?

Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Hi there gnomegates,

I've been using this script since coming back to UO a couple weeks ago with zero problems.  Here is the thread with a link to the mul files I'm using.

http://www.scriptuo.com/index.php?topic=12768.0

Just drop those files into your UO directory and you should be good to go!
