Scripting Chat / Re: How Hard To Script This ?
« on: February 13, 2016, 03:14:55 PM »
I have used Penny's 1.1 for years.  I just recently tried to use it again and for some reason the gump offset sub is no longer pulling up the vendor backpack.  I have tried quite a few attmepts to fix this and am at a loss.  Anyone have any advice? :-[

Are you trying to use the computer at the same time, or are you dedicating your computer to running the script?  As far as lagging out and disconnecting, that's something the script simply cannot do for you.

I recently used this on OSI just to see if it worked and for me it worked well on both my main computer and a VM.  Sometimes it takes a second to pathfind to the south of mast position, but only a second or 2.

Also, are you running any other scripts other than the CLAw?

I am currently running 3 accounts on the same computer.  All 2 are running scripts and I am playing on the third.  There has never been any conflict with the auto fisher and other scripts until now.  I did move shards, is it possible that the shard and latency has something to do with the pathfind sub?

I would like to point out that I do not have several posts as I prefer to find script problems on my own.  I am having a bit of a time with this one as I have not worked a lot with pathfinding.  Here is the scoop...  I am using a small boat as required, it is facing north, and I have retried setup a couple times.  When the character recalls back to the boat from bank and attempts to pathfind %southofmast it will get stuck in what seems to be an endless loop of pathfinding and lag out and d/c.  I have tried a few options with the timers on this sub but all have been met with no result.  Any ideas?

I use an app on my phone to monitor my account(s) while im away.  It's nice to know when you have an issue either mechanical or social.  As for automated responses, I have seen some very well written scripts, but some things just need to be handled by an operator.  But it would be humorous to respond to a Gm with: "please press 1 for english..."

Im setting up XII's miner on a test run to see how it performs, but you may want to double take a look at spewys, there are several options that a novice scripter will overlook even when using it in ter mur.  Multi book mining is possible in ter mur, i should know i have been doing it since the abyss expansion.  Ever see a deed of 60k crystaline blackrock?

Thanks for all of the warm welcomes!

I thought for sure that I could earn a sticky with my introduction.
Either I'm impatient or there is a need for an uber introduction script...

Helloz!

Name is Mac,

I have played uo for (lost count) *thinks* 5 years or so on and off.  I don't have a particular "Main" that I use, however, learning new templates is part of my excitement in UO.  If i had to specify the templates  used the most they would be:  Mage Tamer, Sampire & Mage Bard.

For years I've had the pleasure of using a lot of the scripts authored by novice and legend alike.
After discovering some of the in's and out's of how scripts were made, I quickly began to understand how to modify them.  Catering scripts to specific needs got me hooked.  Soon I had made a few of my own.
It's safe to say that I still play UO for the challenge of overcoming new endeavors both inside the game and out!  Scripting allows a different level of "play" and certainly adds to the replay value of the game!

Shortly after a friend's suggestion to visit the site, it was easy to see that ScriptUO has a new facet of information available.  I read over the site rules, the help section, several different forums and noticed this to be a fantastic opportunity to learn more and perhaps contribute some of my own content!
