Thanks gimlet - and sorry for my sub-par intro. I just haven't had too much of a UO career, but let me try again :D

Hey everyone!

Super excited to be here and reconnect with the UO community. A little about me—I'm 35 and started playing Ultima Online back in 1997-98 on a free shard called TAR. Man, those were the days! I spent way too many hours manually raising all my skills, grinding away without any macros or scripting. I was totally hooked—pulling all-nighters with friends, casting blade spirits in town to mess with NPC vendors, and just having a blast in Britannia. It was chaos, but the good kind, and I loved every minute of it. I eventually graduated to llama bombing people at the bank lol.

Eventually, the shard went down, and I moved on with life. Haven't played since, but a few old buddies reached out recently and convinced me to give it another shot. They're currently shard-hopping to find a home, but are going to let me know when they do. Now, I’ve got 3 kids and not as much time as I used to, so I’m looking into how scripting and automation can help me play more efficiently without taking away from family time. I'm curious to see what tools are out there and how they can help me get the most out of my UO experience.

Really happy to be here and excited to dive in, learn the ropes, and eventually share what I’ve picked up with the community. Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things!

See you around,
catnipper

I played UO heavily when it first came out for quite a few years.  Fast forward several decades later and I'm getting back into it, hook, line and sinker (as in probably too much time, but I now have the time).  I'm looking forward to exploring all the new areas that have been added to UO since I've been gone.  And especially wanting to learn more about some scripts to use for the most tedious endless clicking parts of UO.  Just browsing around this site for awhile has a lot of interesting info.

A little more about myself; I started playing UO back in 97 when I was in 7th grade on Atlantic shard (which I still call home today) as primarily a PvP thief. I remember many weekends spending time causing mischief (in the game of course  ;) ) by walking around enticing people to attack by stealing something small. Fun fact: Mandrake root was used in majority of spells including GHeal & Recall.

Over the course of almost 30 years, my time in the game is spent much differently now to the point I hardly ever PvP, although I did enjoy using my thief (still OG character I had from the start) for the last event to reveal hidden chests in town. Now I spend most of my time either PvM in whatever current event is out there or crafting to build suit pieces or fill BODs. One other small thing I did get into in the game was distilling to make various things since I'm an avid bourbon drinker outside the game and it's fun to make things like Wild Turkey 101 and Buffalo Trace in the game to leave around town for other bourbon enthusiast.

I'm looking forward to getting the chance to take some of the more tedious tasks from the game and sort of automating them so that I can save myself the mundane clicking of the crafting screens.

A Very Warm Welcome!

Our only requirement to be part of this site is for new members to write a good and thoughfull introduction.

Before we will unrestrict you - you need to tell us a lot more!

Please greatly expand your introduction and tell us about yourself and your UO life.

Look at the sticked examples if you need insight.
I think you will find the effort required to write a four or five paragraphs will pay off with this community!

(Use a translator program if you feel you can not write in english.)
