« Last post by bodyhigh on June 24, 2025, 09:14:02 AM »Hi everyone! Reading the other intros, my story is much the same, I've been on and off with UO, there's just nothing quite like it.
A friend tried for a year to get me to try UO, he finally bought me a copy for Christmas '99 so I couldn't say no anymore. I knew I'd like it and get addicted, that's why I resisted so long.
Since he had a year head start, I didn't have to suffer as much through the new player experience, he gave me money and gear and helped me skill up. We were mainly on Atlantic, but somewhere along the line I also started up on Baja kind of on my own. I always preferred dexers, but dabbled with everything, I tend to want to do it all myself. As friends left, I was eventually the only one playing and finally called it quits about 2006 or 07.
I came back during Covid, I came across an article about how Ultima was still going, and miraculously I was able to recover both of my original accounts. All my stuff was gone, of course, but I had a little gold and a mission to finally finish my Tamer on Baja. And so here I am still 5 years later!
Like I said, I like to do everything myself, so I like the automation that scripting gives me while I work from home and keep an eye on it. The monotonous stuff, resource gathering and skilling. I'm in the tech field with some programming experience, so it's also fun to learn and apply that knowledge. I've never cared for PvP, so I'm focused on PvM when I play.

now many years later I still do taming here and there - game changed so much when I tried to get back to the game I realised this. and there are many new stuff waiting to be explored - by that i mean the upcoming events and trying to figure out how to do them and stuff like that- I'm not the best with english as it wasn't my mother tounge.
