When I first started playing Ultima Online there was no Trammel, no Champ Spawns, and White Wyrms were the baddest pets around. I lived and rped in Yew, and was a member of West Yew University. I remember house keys, boat keys, and keyrings, which when adventuring, where always kept in the bank. A pvper with a rune to your house and your house key, made for a very sad and penniless homecoming. My first character was a tamer, and tamers are still my favorite.
I have made many segweys to other MMOs, but always seem to find myself returning to UO. There is something eternal in Ultima Online that other MMOs with their epic graphics and endless leveling have never quite achieved. Part of it has always been the community. Even after years away I still see familiar faces on my return. I think the rest of it is...well, just magic.
