I've been a player of Ultima Online for about 20 years now. I started back in college and played for about 3 or 4 years with an amazing group of people. Then as all good things go, we drifted apart and even though I lost contact with most of them, I am still friends on social media with a couple. It has been pretty nice seeing how we've all matured and changed over the years. I got lost in Star Wars Galaxies for a couple years when it first came out until the NGE (*bleep* Smedley), but I always came back to UO for a month or 2 every year. Then I discovered Private Servers, and have been playing them off and on over the years.
My favorite activity in the game is fishing by far. Even back before there was almost nothing to do in it, I loved the relaxing nature of it. I also love crafting and mining as those, too, are relaxing. If I want a sense of danger, I like going out and finding high rolls on animals for taming purposes. I once had an army of bulls that I trained up that did pretty well considering, you know, they're bulls.
I'll never forget when Age of Shadows dropped and Malas was introduced. The land rush was so exciting and I was finally able to build my first house. It was small, but it was mine.
As far as scripting goes, I really enjoy it (though I've never done anything remotely as complex as most of them on here). Back in the day I wrote a simple program that would automatically translate the coordinates from an SOS into a file that I could upload into UOAM and have them all appear on the map. I have since lost that program, but man was it fun writing it and having it actually work. I look forward to interacting with all of your hard work and seeing how far UO scripting has come.
