Medusa Strategy...

Medusa seems to be similar to other Peerless Monsters in the game, but she has a tendency to drop better loot then most of the other SA Monsters especially the Medusa Statue and her blood for making Pet Rez Potions.  What do you think is the best template along with the best weapon to kill her with.  Gorgon lenses made with her scales for sure...a tank mage seems to get in a lot of spells on her, but it would seem that a sampire constantly beating on her would work better and faster...

I've tried the sampire approach. It worked okay, maybe a little slow. But I always had to run when she putrified me and popped out an evil twin. I wasn't able to finish the job because of one of these twins. He seemed to have HPR+20 and didn't go away even after 15 minutes fighting him. Strange.

Next time I will either bring a supporting disco mage or try the 2 tamer approach someone described here in this forum.

I've never done Medusa but I keep reading to never disarm her. Why is that?

The Two Tamer (tm) method:

1.  One tamer with GDrag (henceforth #1), one tamer with Cu (#2).
2.  Upon entry, stick #1 in an out-of-the-way corner
3.  Run around with #2, triggering the statues one at a time.  Toss some minor spells at the boss to get her to waken each statue, then invis to break her aggro.
4.  Drag the statues to #1.  Feed statues to GDragon.
5.  Tank Medusa with #1, preferably after discoing her.  Use Cu Sidhe to kill Evil Dragon Duplicates.  You will have to vet, unless you are a wicked fast mage healin' tamer dude.  Or unless your name is Manwinc.
6.  Cackle over vast piles of lewt.

Only done it once, but the theory is sound.

Questions?

 :)

lol, well if we don't have predictability, then what do we have?  I guess I wouldn't know since it wouldn't be predictable?  lol

Rofl, If You disarm her she hits you for 80 Damage punches at1.25 Second Swings. As Opposed to around 40-50 Damage Swings every 3 Seconds. Do the math

We take a small group in with a couple of archers a good necro/mage and a sampire.  Sampire gets on Medusa right off the get go and the rest of group deals with the statues comming to life.  Once room is all clear the rest of the group comes to Medusa.  We have had good luck using Repon slayers with fire damage.  Necro keeps her Corp skinned and flame strikes her.   Takes about 5 minutes.
