Hey everybody.
I'm Clakbro. I'm a 28-year-old guy in Northwest Illinois. Life here in the rural Midwest is about as uneventful as you can imagine, which is why I play a lot of video games. Starting with an NES way back when, I worked my way into Ultima Online in late '97 or early '98. It was a long time ago! After messing around on a few servers, I settled on Lake Superior for the long haul. I finished playing, well, for awhile, in 2001. I came back a few times, most recently this year, which has led me here.
I started with a tiny house South of Britain, with a swordsman, who later turned into a mage. Eventually, I upgraded to a large tower on Dagger Isle. I guess most people referred to it as Ice Isle, but I digress. When "Trammel" was implemented, I moved there, close to the site of my original house, on the very same beach, with a villa. Over the years, I've had a number of different kinds of characters, mages, swordsmen, fencers, tradeskillers, etc. Most recently I decided to do the cool and "in" thing and try a samurai vampire person on Lake Superior (still).
I'm an Ultima fan, and outside of the MMOG, I own all of the Ultima games except 9 from gog.com (and I own a couple of them in other formats). While dated, Ultima 6 is still one of my favorite games. One of my biggest regrets with UO was that during my original stint of game time, there wasn't a lot of "Ultima" stuff, like the Virtues, included in the MMOG. I'm very pleased that EA/Origin/Mythic/Bioware has resolved this for me! But then they created an elf race, so that was disappointing. Ah well.
Anyway, I currently play a lot of Ultima Online, with some World of Warcraft and Diablo 3 mixed in. I have a real-world friend who plays, and many more who have played at one point or another. He (my real-world friend) tells me that this is where the cool people hang about, so here I am. I'm pretty cool, myself. Uh, I think.
That about sums it up, I think. Thanks very much for letting me part of your cool-people community.
