Good morning, all. First of all, thank you for the opportunity to join your community here. I greatly appreciate it.
A little about me, I started playing UO way back in 1997. My brother ordered the Charter Edition and the rest is history. I was 14 years old in 1997, and I instantly became a UO addict. There was no other game I had ever played that gave you the freedom and diversity that UO did. My parents despised UO due to the hours upon hours my brother and I would spend online. I cannot tell you the number of times we were busted at 3AM on a school night working our characters or exploring.
I played pretty much every character class you can think of, from PVP to PVM, crafters, etc., but my passion has always been crafting. I remember spending months upon months mining enough ingots and working my Blacksmithing skill. When I finally hit Grandmaster Blacksmith, just seeing the title on my paperdoll was so amazing to me, as, at that time, there were very few GM Blacksmiths in the game. This was back when I could sell armor and weapons at the Britain Forge, and I made a pretty good living doing so.
Fast forward a bit, and throughout the years I have come and gone, mostly due to real life getting in the way, but I always come back. I have recently returned within the past few months (again), and have enjoyed keeping to myself and mainly sticking to crafting and bulk order deeds. A lot has changed, but the nostalgia of UO will always be there for me.
I think part of the draw to UO was always the people I met. I have met lifelong friends throughout the course of my UO journey, and although we have lost touch over the years, I will always remember them. Although the direction of the game has changed over the years, it's the friends and the freedom you have in UO that will likely keep me lurking until they shut it down completely. Even then, I would likely find a freeshard to keep the memory alive.
Anyway, thank you all for having me here, and I'm looking forward to being a part of the community.
Hail and well met,
