Script Debug / Re: Menu Designer
« on: November 14, 2017, 06:28:53 PM »
Hi,

It sounds to me that you:
1) have downloaded the MSI file properly
2) double clicked it to install

When it's installed, you need to use the *START MENU* to access the Menu Designer OR make a shortcut to \Program Files (x86)\EasyUO_MD\EasyUO_MD.exe.  It sounds like you're clicking the file that you've downloaded (the msi), instead of the shortcut/file that has installed on your machine after installation.

Do you have 'show file extensions' enabled in Windows Explorer?  That will show whether you're clicking an MSI file or EasyUO_MD.exe.

Related but unrelated, I actually have this running successfully in Win10.  Curiously it seems to work even if I don't run the programs as administrator, but I don't want to muddy the waters.  Since EUO1.4 doesn't need to interact with client.exe, that seems to remove the 'run as admin' requirement (for me anyway).

Script Snippets /

Hi There,

Thanks so much for this sub, it was very useful to me.

I made one small change because the init option gave inconsistent results immediately after a recall that crossed server lines:

Original Code:
Code: easyuo
  1.
  2. FindItem #CHARID *
  3.    if #FindType in HS_IS
  4.       Set %RANA_WH_RACE HUMAN
  5.    if #FindType in XU_AV
  6.       Set %RANA_WH_RACE ELF
  7.    if  #FindType in OCB_NCB
  8.       Set %RANA_WH_RACE GARGOYLE
  9.

Changed Code:
Code: easyuo
  1. if #CHARTYPE in HS_IS
  2.    Set %RANA_WH_RACE HUMAN
  3. if #CHARTYPE in XU_AV
  4.    Set %RANA_WH_RACE ELF
  5. if  #CHARTYPE in OCB_NCB
  6.    Set %RANA_WH_RACE GARGOYLE
  7.

Thanks again!

I'm wondering if they will try to implement some type of advertising system (embedded browser?) within the client for those free accounts...entire free to play model is ad dependent.  if they can do it, they can theoretically implement captcha system.... :o just speculating!

Hey Folks,

Sorry for bumping super old topic but I didn't see an update on the problem.

I was able to get thru the 'Unhandled Exception' issue in Windows 10 by setting Compatibility Level to "Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)".  Previously, I wasn't able to launch SUO without the crash.

Hope this helps someone!

Gemviper, thanks so much for this info.  Question - what's the collective wisdom on what should be imbued into the armor, assuming that the pieces are good?

Thanks

Sorry didn't get to see this one or I might have been able to help :(  I think having the users on the external drive would cause issues, since the safe mode install wont recognize the drivers (hence not loading the %userprofile%) until the drive is local.  Glad that you got through it.

I actually love Win10, but the pesky privacy stuff is giving me pause (hehe).  Currently having a whole boatload of issues in my office with Group Policy, McAfee/security nonsense, and VPN.  It's a headache for sure.

Hi There,

I'm testing out some simple functionality on OSI shard, would appreciate some help.

Per the script comments, I'm expecting the script to recall to the 2nd rune if 1st rune is blocked.  Replication: simply run the script while standing on first rune location.

Code: [Select]
set %runebookid XXXXXXX
gosub TM_TravelFromRunebook RE 1 2 %runebookid
halt

Code keeps retrying on this loop in sub TM_TravelFromRunebook
Code: [Select]
TravelFromRunebook_loop1:
...(deleted)...
    if !method = RE
      gosub TM_NewCastSpell 31 !rbook -1 10 10 ; recall until successful

My limited skills unfortunately prevent me from debugging the journal scanner, so I'm asking for help.  Any ideas?

Really appreciate the time and effort put into these subs!!

Thanks

Erwin

Off Topic / Re: So I downloaded Kodi
« on: August 19, 2016, 09:23:25 AM »
I bought Chromecast for one of my bedroom TVs; my wife loved it so much that I moved it downstairs; we have been using it a lot more than my HTPC.   I only use the HTPC to watch movies and run 'background tasks'  ;)

The simplicity of the casting ecosystem (everything from common phone apps) makes the Google/Android option a lot easier for my wife and guests to use.  I still have some work to do to see how Kodi/Plex can be leveraged effectively with full features (4k with HD sound, subtitles, etc).

I'm looking at the Shield because:
1) It supports 4k (Netflix,YouTube not supported with Windows HTPC)
2) Casting options from phone (YouTube Netflix Twich Pandora)
3) It's only $199 for the base model which is a ton cheaper than even the cheapest 4K HTPC solution

I'm still upset that Windows Media Center got dropped, I loved that product and spent a lot of time on it :(

I spent about 30 minutes on TC.  Hope this helps someone.

1) Create normal exceptional leather armor piece with normal tool
2) Use horned kit to reforge one name ("Auspicious/Fortune").  Cannot choose 'Powerful Reforging', or else the Fortune selection goes away

This will net you a 150 luck piece.  Then

3) Imbue your resists/mods
4) Use your Forged Metal Tool to enhance with Spined to bring it to 190

I have *not* done this in production yet, since I don't have the metal tool :)

Also interested in testing out:
a) enhancement success rates with ancient smithy hammers
b) whether a talisman impacts the success rates

I love Kodi so much and still use it every day, but since my HTPC has been wheezing lately, I'm >< this close to dumping it all for a NVidia Shield + casting apps, this seems to be the trend nowadays.

Hi,

Thanks for posting the updated script, it's running very well for me on OSI.  I did comment out this line (line 141) for performance tuning purposes.

;gosub recall2bank

Thanks!
