My last intro was a little weak, so here we go round 2:
Hi i'm Fappy. Im 26 and like to play a variety of multiplayer games. Sadly all MMO made recently are so similar to WoW i'm starting to lose interest in MMO.. till my friend told me to try UO about 6 months ago, which is an entirely diff game... and i'm really enjoying it.
About my name:
Ever since I started gaming I've played a lot with my cousins, one of which is a chubby jovial dude. We nicknamed him fappy, since he was (F)at and h(appy)
. This was many many years ago before the word "fap" gained the notorious meaning that it has today. We all lol'ed pretty hard when we learned what the new meaning was. Strangely enough, we never stopped using the name. We also share characters a lot, and I think somehow in some mmo I ended up maining his "Fappy" character. After that the name stuck and I kept using the name. Its also partly because I hate naming characters. I'm always staring at the Char create screen thinking to myself "AH damn.. what do i name this one... ah.. um... ok whatever, FAPPY!" Funny how things work out lol.
My early noob adventure:
I play on the Formosa shard. When I started I was clueless on what classes there were. My friend went ahead and told me to be bard (I later found out it was only so he could make me a mindless peacemaking machine while he tamed greater dragons
). I asked him what should I hunt? He gave me a rune labeled labyrinth and tell me to go kill a scorp named miasma... At first i practiced with the minotaurs out in front with provoke. After i got the hang of it i felt confident and went after the black scorp! I had no idea monsters could even move that fast. He killed me in around 3 hits! In the middle I ran into this some lizard thingy rend... and I just... pretty much exploded instantly when i touched him. I died around 25 times and didn't manage to kill either of them Sad
I was pissed, but it was damn fun. I decided to raise my barding skills and get more resist so i dont get utterly destroyed as soon as im in range of those mobs. After a few more days of struggling i finally get to kill miasma (but i still ran when i saw rend, lol) ! I was so happy. "Yea thats for killing me 30 times you bastard". I walk over to loot the thing. While I'm all happy digging through the corpse another one respawns and kills me. That wasn't cool. My friend laughed a lot at me getting pwnt by the scorp and insurance costs, he told me it was "negative profit farming".
A little about me:
I do work, so i only have a limited amount of time at night to play. I travel a lot for my job, was in 6 countries the last 6 months. Trying to get the most out of the gaming time i have, the only boring part of the game is doing something repetitively in game. I started doing some scripting and trying to learn the ropes. Sadly... im not too good at it with limited programming knowledge, but I'm getting better! Hopefully i can learn something new from all of you. I give all of you veterans big props for being able to do this stuff, it seems pretty amazing to me Wink
