Well here is what i have done with battle chickens so far.  AS a carpenter you can craft a chicken coop and a egg garden (not the correct name but i wanted to finish my thoughts).  You get the eggs and place them in the encubater and hatch them and then you feed and train them. You can get many different colors and strengths amd weaknesses with each one. I believe the eggs have to come from a wild adult battle chicken.

The eggs come from chicken lizards. You can kill em or tame em. I have not tamed any yet to see what happens...but I have killed some. You do get NEGATIVE karma from killing them, and I had to kill about 20 to get a egg.

Once you get an egg you put it in the incubator and water it once a day until it is ready to hatch.  When it is ready it will turn into a mature egg.  Hatch it and tame it, requires 0 skill to tame. Then coup it for a week and feed it and you have a bonded battle chicken.

Also something to add.  From the eggs you can hatch another chicken lizard or you also have a small chance of getting a battle chicken.
