I am sitting here, 3/4 drunk, trying to think of ways to get the JD out of the bottle, and into my stomach without contravening several UK laws on Health and safety, God i hate playing UO / Reading UO related sites after i spent 2 weeks doing a Health and Safety Audit at work...

I don't buy it, I think it's fake. I don't think Jack Daniels would freeze at a mere -51 degrees; the water in the alcohol would freeze thus creating a Jack Daniels Slushy but that's about it. I think you'd need to be nearly twice that cold to turn JD into a block of ice (eg, over -100 F).

Actually, because most whiskey is about 80proof (40% alcohol), the approximate freezing point of JD would be around -45 to -50 degrees CELCIUS

-51*F would be -46.1*C so that is definitely a possibly true picture!

By comparison, your refrigerator usually goes down to about -10*C, which is why everyone can safely store their vodka and other alcohol safely in there without freezing!
