Ideal whammy armor?

Greetings -

We've had many discussions about the best Whammy template for soloing high level monsters/peerless.  I have built the template (insofar as powerscrolls have been available) and I'm now kitting him out.

If you could build a suit out of any currently available item, but without faction items higher than level four, what would you build?  Alternatively, what attributes do you need in the 'perfect' Whammy suit of armor?

Thanks!

 :)

#1 - Mace and Shield Glasses
#2 - See #1

You need, NEED hit lower defense.

RBC is nice, but I like more DCI so I go with HotL and Fey's. I like having 70 DCI so I'm HLD proof. Some bosses have a HLD attack.

My Swammy... your whammy doesn't need as much fire resist. I need it cause I go sampire a lot.

Mace N Shield Glasses
Mempo - 12/24/5/23/3, LMC7
HotL (Faction L4)
Fey Leggings (Faction L1)
Hiro Sode 9/23/20/23/4, MR2
StormGrip (Faction L1)
Ring (Imbued) Dex 7, DCI 15, LMC 7, DI 22, Poison 15%
Bracelet (Imbued) Dex 7, DCI 15, LMC 7, DI 22, Fire 15%
Crimmy (Faction L4)

70/70/70/70/72 while in Vamp with Protection cast.

91/102/78/93/72 are the actual resists.

HotL...HotL...why can't I remember what that stands for...

Hamster of the Light!

(oh, wait - Heart of Lion.)

Thanks much for this run-down!  I don't plan to use vamp form, but rather the leeching wraith form.  Therefore, I should have some more mods available when imbuing to throw on stuff like HLD and more MR/DI!

I shall begin!

Yeah, on my army toons. (Also run them as sampires/whammys sometimes)

Mace and Shield
Carapace
Fey leggings
HCI DI talisman
Gloves, Sleeves, Gorget with mr 2 lmc and whatever else I can get.
all 70's requirement.

Jewels are usually whatever i can get. If I imbued they would be hci 15, dci 15, FC 1, DI, Whatevers Left into EP or Dex/STr
Monkeys and Typewriters!

Wasn't 65 DCI the max required to be safe?

Hit Lower Defense

Quote
Hit Lower Defense (HLD) is an item property found on weapons and reading glasses. A successful hit with such a weapon lowers the defense rating of the target by 25% for 8 seconds.

Example:

Opponent has max Weapon Skill (120) + max DCI (45%)

You have max Weapon Skill (120) + max HCI (45%)

    Result:
You have a 50/50 chance to hit or miss.

But if you score an HLD hit, the next round is...

Opponent has max Weapon Skill (120) + 20% DCI

You have max Weapon Skill (120) + max HCI (45%)

    Result:
For this example, you now have a much better than 50/50 chance to hit for the duration of the HLD effect.

Another way to look at it is that HLD stacks with HCI, once a target is affected.

HLD Proofing

An opponent with a cumulative Defense Chance Increase of 70% or more will nullify any HLD hit.

Wow - I am learning that, with just a few, easily obtained Marties, you can imbue a good all-70s suit with decent mods...without relic frags!

I'll post the results when I'm finished.  Going to be tough to get a pair of M&S glasses unless I script them myself...I hate scripting a negative revenue stream...

 ;)

Not including M&S glasses, which I have not yet been able to procure, and not holding a weapon, I'm currently at:

DCI 50
DI 69
HCI 10
LMC 29
55/67/71/55/84
Dex +16
Str +2
Int +10
MR 7
HPI 6
Mana inc 6

I wasted a ton of time farming ingreds until I realized you don't need em for one notch under max intensity.  VERY happy so far, and M&S glasses will round out the set.

Gear:
Cloak of Power
Gorget: MR 2 5/19/8/18/9 (imbued)
Sleeves: MR 2 17/12/18/9/18 (imbued)
RBC Faction
Fey Legs Faction
Stormgrip Faction
Ring (Imbued) Dex 7, DCI 15, LMC 7, DI 22, Poison 15%
Bracelet (Imbued) Dex 7, DCI 15, LMC 7, DI 22, Fire 15%

M&S give me almost perfect resists and 30 HLD.  Yay.  I can also imbue the armor pieces higher, I just haven't bothered yet.  I'm thinking they're pretty cheap to replace like they are now..

 :)

Oh yes - I totally stole yer jewelry blueprint.  I think I need to redo my arms, though, because I'm way over on energy resist now that I've got M&S:

80/77/81/65/94

Whoops.  That should be on poison or fire instead.
